Job Profile Summary
A regional opportunity has arisen for a Vice President position in Transaction Management Office (TMO) within the Trade & Commodity Finance (TCF) team in Singapore. A key role to provide strong support to the TCF Asia Business Units in servicing clients’ needs through close co-operation with TCF Front Office (TCF FO) based in Singapore and Hong Kong, and the various internal departments, including Trade Operations and Lending Operations amongst others.

Primary responsibility of the TMO includes daily execution of clients’ transactions, ensuring transactions are financed within approved credit facilities supported by the appropriate collateral, closely follow-up and monitor transaction risk / collateral throughout the life cycle of the deal.

Job Responsibilities:

i) Management of Transactions

• Effective and timely management of transactions.
• Contact point for clients and liaise closely with operational and supporting departments
• Perform independent transactional risk analysis including evaluation of its associated collateral quality and performance risks reference to the approved credit facilities and general guidelines or procedures.
• Explore risk mitigating measures and work together with TCF FO in providing financing solutions to clients.
• Participate actively in discussions with TCF FO and TMO on the observed modus operandi of the client, trade flow, facility utilization patterns, etc. during credit reviews
• Work with external partners, such as, but not limited to storage facility operators, clearing brokers, insurance underwriters.
• Ensure transactions are in adherence with Compliance & related policies.

ii) Management of Approval Process

• Prepare and obtain the appropriate transactional approval in accordance with the approval procedures.
• Work closely with TCF FO and relevant departments (including Risk, Operations) to ensure smooth execution of transactions

iii) Management of Trade Life Cycle

This includes but not limited to:

• Set up position report in system for each borrowing client as per approved terms and conditions.
• Timely update of transaction information and exposures in the position report.
• Monitor and manage supporting collaterals including assessment of the collateral quality; perform the appropriate collateral valuation including paper hedges relating to the physical cargo throughout the life cycle of the transaction.
• Handle clients’ daily cash flow transactions including deposits, remittances and attend to enquiries from clients.
• Participate in ad-hoc projects or assignments, commercial and clients’ meetings where necessary

iv) Facility Administration

• Work closely with TCF FO ensuring smooth implementation of approved limits in system.
• Collateral value reporting

v) Others

• Coach and train juniors in managing transactional flow & risks
• Proactively driving changes and contribute positively towards workflow efficiency

What we're looking for:

The Finance Manager will drive the Group's performance which includes oversight of hotel financial results, driving business performance and support to the hotel businesses to provide insights on profitability of hotels.

This role also involves managing requirements at the operations and/or project or program level that can help fulfill business needs. You will be involved in improvement projects to streamline hotel finance and accounting and operations. When required, you may also be assigned to cover the role of hotel's Financial Controller as and when required.

Job Description

1) Review and driving hotel's financial performance

• Analyze and benchmark hotel performance
• Understanding of revenue and cost drivers and provide insights on the profitability of hotels
• Identify gaps and areas for improvement
• Be a trusted business partner to the hotel general managers and senior management team

2) Review hotel’s financial statements and controls

• Oversee and review the hotel monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness of the profit and loss statement and balance sheet
• Promptly follow up issues with hotel Financial Controller
• Review hotel operation process and ensure compliance of policies and procedures, standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements
• Identify inefficiency and deficits and areas in need of changes and improvements
• Plan efficiencies and monitor performance, elicit requirements and areas for improvements, translate and simplify processes, review, and recommend changes to standard operating procedures and policy and procedures, when necessary

3) Feasibility studies and projects

• Assist with the preparation or review of the business case, operational and financial audit and review
• Drive the design or review of test cases, process change requests, and manage a project's scope, acceptance, installation and deployment
• Projection participation - To hold a strategy role in key projects (eg, procurement project, HRIS project, etc.)

4) Any other ad hoc assignments

• To cover the role of hotel's Financial Controller as and when required
• To cover any ad-hoc tasks as and when required

Job Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CPA or equivalent
• More than 10 years of relevant finance experience
• External audit experience in Big Four Accounting Firm
• Proficient in data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau will be a plus)
• Good written and verbal communication
• Ability to work independently, proactive, committed, result-oriented and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Possess strong analytical, technical, written and oral communication skills.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field.
• At least 5-8 years of experience in digital customer portal with experience in the insurance industry and stakeholders’ management.
