JOB SUMMARY
The Finance Manager is a key professional responsible for ensuring the financial health of an organization. For this role, you report straight line to the regional MD (based in Singapore) with dotted line reporting to European HQ re information reporting requirements. The role now covers the hands-on accounting function for Singapore and Vietnam supporting the trading business. In addition, you will oversee the reporting of the Thailand’s numbers for HQ reporting. This is a very hands-on finance manager role whereby you will manage 1 accounts assistant.
You will analyze everyday financial activities and subsequently provide advice and guidance to upper management on future financial plans. The goal is to enable the company’s leaders to make sound business decisions and meet the company’s objectives.
You will utilize your expertise in financial analysis and strategic planning. By analyzing day-to- day financial activities with precision, you will provide valuable insights and recommendations to upper management. Your guidance will empower the company’s leaders to make informed decisions that align with the organization’s long-term goals.
Additionally, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing financial plans that support the company’s growth and profitability.
Monitoring financial performance, identifying areas for improvement, and capitalizing on opportunities will be integral parts of your responsibilities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates closely with the Managing Director and the Sales & Service Team to further drive and support the business development and to improve processes across the organisation
- Manages the finance and controlling team in South-East-Asia and represents the function in the Management Team
- Ensures the on time and accurate booking keeping and closing of all South-East-Asia subsidiaries incl. local reporting and reporting to Group in accordance with all legal aspects and internal guidelines.
- Familiar with accounting standards in Vietnam or Thailand
- Cash Planning and Net Working Capital management and ad-hoc reporting requirements
- Coordinate planning process i.e. forecast, budget and mid-term plans, legal and tax matters
- Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to the management and line managers while recommending further courses of action
- Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take
- Maintain the financial health of the organization
- Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans
- Develop trends and projections for the company’s finances
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
- Oversee operations of the finance and controlling department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework or SOP for these to be met
- Manage the preparation of the company’s budget Prompt and quality financial reporting to HQ not limited to audit, tax such as quarterly GST and annual corporate tax, etc.
- Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained
Requirements:
- BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics with min 10 to 15 years of related accounting exp some of which is gained with international MNC(s).
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA/CFA/CPA is a must
- Proven experience as a full fledged Finance Manager with good FP&A (covering budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis) experience is required.
- Prior exp using Cognos OR ABAS OR SAP is preferred (but not a must)
- Familiar with accounting practices and standards for Thailand OR Vietnam (besides Singapore)
- Added experience doing reporting to HQ is required
- Exposure to inventory accounting is useful but not a must
- Prior external audit exp is useful but not a must
- Extensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Able to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used
- A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
- Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
- Hands-on and thrives in a relatively fast paced MNC environment.
- Confident to speak up when required
- Work in office 100% the time (the office is located at Henderson/ Bukit Merah area).
