Singlife is looking for a IFRS 17 Finance Assistant Vice President. The role will play an important role in the Finance function to help improve and ensure timely and accurate IFRS17 financial reporting by preparing actual cash flow data, maintaining configuration files for ETL processes, and preparing thorough analyses and reconciliations. The role will also be involved in identifying and implementing process enhancements and IFRS17 related system upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate and timely IFRS17 financial data through ETL processes, including maintaining configuration files and collaborating with IT team.
• Prepare and review detailed reconciliations and analyses to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Collaborate with actuarial team to prepare and interpret analyses of IFRS17 results, including variance analysis.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the IFRS17 finance function, contributing to enhanced stability and efficiency in the reporting processes.
• Assist in the preparation of IFRS17 financial reports and statements, providing accurate and timely data for internal and external reporting purposes.
• Assist in implementing system upgrades to increase efficiency and ensure compatibility with IFRS17 reporting requirements.
• Enhance and implement internal controls and procedures to support adherence to IFRS17 reporting requirements and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist in preparation and review of audit documentation.
• Participates in ad-hoc activities as and when assigned.

Requirements

Experience

• 6-10 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or audit within the insurance industry.
• Experience in IFRS17.
• Experience in working with source system data extractions and SQL is an advantage.
• Motivated to work independently.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Alteryx or other data analysis software is an advantage.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.

The Company

Our client is a large MNC within the shipping industry, with a history of more than 100 years. They are currently looking to hire a Finance Operations Analyst to join them.

The Role

The successful incumbent will work closely with the finance team and will be responsible for finance, operations and admin activities. Tasks include analysis of terminal and port costs, reconciliation, variance and trend analysis, cost control, AP, AR as well as month end closing. There will be calculation of terminal costs, resolving discrepancies, reporting, liaison with treasury team on banker’s guarantee, issuance of PO, processing of invoices, costs recovery, posting of journals, accruals, annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting.

To be successful in this role, you should possess minimum qualification of a Diploma in Finance and Accounting, well versed in accounting concepts and bring along with you 1-2 years of accounting experience. • Experience in Singapore tax regulations, GST reporting, and financial compliance.
• High attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; experience in regional APAC finance operations is a plus.
