• Responsible to ensure sufficient paint inventory for daily operation needs,
• Responsible for the use, maintenance and proper condition of tools and workshop facilities – spray booths, paint mixing room etc.
• Responsible for safety, good order and tidiness in the workshop and the discipline of staff under his care.

Detailed responsibilities :

• Organize and control the spray painting section to achieve best possible service quality and execute all jobs according to the repair order.
• Determine the team capacity available based on flat rate units and maximize work bays utilization.
• Coordinate with both panel beater foreman and mechanical foreman such that accident repairs process flow is not hindered in order to meet the deadline.
• Inform the workshop exectuive / workshop manager on availability of spray painters.
• Monitor the progress of work according to priorities agreed with MCA / Snr MCA / WP / WM.
• Ensure assessment and rectification work done correctly to address return jobs or customer feedback.
• Inform necessary additional repair works immediately to the MCA, inform on the possibility of performing them (capacity) and ask for approval.
• Communicate with MCA on extra work to be done. If approved, enter the flat rates and the specification of such work in the repair order.
• Communicate with parts department to bring in parts under normal order/urgent order/VOR order if not available with the aim to meet customer deadline.
• Ensure the tidiness and cleanliness of all work areas.
• Ensure all staff observe all safety procedures – ie. safe working procedures and the use of personal protective gears.
• Ensure paint mixer maintain and keep sufficient paint inventory for daily operation needs.

Job Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a supervisor in automotive workshop or related environment.
• Experience in supervisory role in spray painting would be an advantage.
• Knowledge about insurance claims processes / procedures
• Skillful in preparation and spray painting of vehicles.
• Knowledge about bodywork operation.
• Knowledge about body and paintwork.
• Knowledge about component parts of motor vehicle.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head of Operations in all daily tasks and matters within the Operations Department.
• Liaise closely with customer in project executions including carrying out site surveys, preparing designs and documentations (method statements, safe work procedures, risk assessments, fall prevention plans and lifting plans) for submission, arrange manpower and logistics to deliver construction equipment to site, install, commission, maintain, inspect, shift, troubleshoot, dismantle and return construction equipment to workshop.
