Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and results-driven Manufacturing/Lifecycle Engineer to oversee the transition of validated hardware designs into mass production and address post-production challenges. The ideal candidate will work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and support teams to ensure smooth production processes, maintain product quality, and resolve any field issues related to the product.
This role is critical to bridging the gap between design engineering and manufacturing, ensuring that products are delivered to customers with the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Responsibilities:
• Manufacturing Readiness:
· Coordinate with manufacturing teams to set up production lines for new products.
· Develop and implement manufacturing processes, test protocols, and quality standards.
· Review design documentation and BOMs (Bill of Materials) to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency.
· Work with procurement to source components and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Production Support:
· Address and resolve issues that arise during manufacturing, such as process deviations or component availability.
· Monitor and analyse production metrics to identify areas for process improvement.
· Assist in scaling production from prototypes to high-volume manufacturing.
• Post-Production Support:
· Investigate and resolve field failures, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
· Develop repair and rework processes for defective units.
· Provide engineering support to the customer service team for hardware-related issues.
• Quality Assurance:
· Collaborate with the quality team to establish and maintain product quality standards.
· Conduct hardware audits and inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
· Implement changes to improve product reliability and longevity based on field data.
• Documentation and Training:
· Create and maintain documentation for manufacturing processes, test procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
· Train production and support teams on hardware assembly, testing, and maintenance.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
· Experience in hardware manufacturing, production, or support engineering.
· Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including SMT, PCB assembly, and testing.
· Familiarity with tools like failure analysis equipment, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
· Experience with quality standards and certifications (e.g., ISO 9001).
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet production timelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with hardware troubleshooting and root cause analysis in a production or field environment.
· Knowledge of ERP systems and production planning tools.
· Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (e.g., CE, FCC, RoHS).
· Experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers.
