The candidate will also explore how variance in gut microbial communities within the Singapore population impacts mycotoxin metabolism. Overall, this project would lead to better understand the risks posed by different mycotoxins in Singapore. This project would suit someone with existing bio-informatic experience.

We are looking for researchers to join a multi-disciplinary team carrying out research projects on a range of energy issues that concern Singapore and the region.

ESI has an opening for a Research Assistant to ensure the timely delivery of research and policy recommendations with national, regional and/or international clients. Job Description

Commensurate with experience, and working as part of a team, tasks may include the following:

• To report on the motivations for and expanded adoption of socially responsible business practices, including carbon disclosure, either voluntarily or in response to evolving national/international policies e.g. reacting to carbon tax revisions or similar;
• To review regional and international best practices for carbon footprint measurement, including the scope of emissions captured;
• To work with the hybrid infrastructure management platform as the central component of a high-integrity automated carbon footprint management solution;
• To explore the potential for, and possibly support the development of, a digital twin architecture built upon a hybrid infrastructure management platform, as a framework for strategic evaluation of carbon footprint policies;
• To support the development of virtual reality software for integrated simulation extensions of the hybrid infrastructure management platform output, accessed through APIs;
• To explore the development of a lifecycle management algorithm around the critical elements of data centre cooling system architecture(s);
• To document case studies for the use of automated technologies in carbon emissions data capture, verification and/or reporting.

Job Requirements

The National University of Singapore invites applications for research assistant/associates in the Multimodal Neuroimaging in Neuropsychiatric Disorders Laboratory (MNNDL), Center for Sleep and Cognition at the Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The MNNDL group at NUS studies the human neural bases of cognitive functions and the associated vulnerability patterns in aging and neuropsychiatric disorders using multimodal neuroimaging and psychophysical techniques. We are interested in the large-scale brain structural and functional networks in healthy developing and aging brain and symptoms-related changes in diseases such as neurodegenerative disorders and psychosis. Statistical, computational, and machine learning methods are developed to analyze and fuse multimodal neuroimaging data. By integrating longitudinal behavior, neuroimaging, and genotype data, our long-term goal is to investigate the interactions among brain network dynamics, behavior, diseases, and genotypes to develop non-invasive biomarkers for early detection, differential diagnosis, progression monitoring, and treatment design.

Key attractions are access to a high-performance computing cluster, two 3T Prisma MR scanner and a MR compatible digital EEG system as well as collaboration opportunities with an excellent network of domestic and international scientists and doctors. Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant (RA) will work closely with, the Principal Investigator, lab members, and collaborators to ensure smooth operation of computing servers/storage, efficient database management, and successful completion of research projects in the lab.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The research assistant will support the effort in conducting cutting-edge neuroscience and machine learning research and development. He/she has the opportunity to learn state-of-the-art neuroimaging techniques, data collection and analysis, with healthy participants and patients with neuropsychiatric diseases. He/she will be primarily engaged in computing server and storage administration (with support from external vendors), website maintenance, and neuroimage processing using automatic or semi-automatic scripts, and general IT management. He/she will also be able to learn how to conduct fMRI scans with EEG recording, interactions with patients, quality control, behavioural assessments, and implications in neuroscience and disease. The research assistant is expected to learn neuroimaging software and assist researchers in IRB application, data preprocessing and database management in various research projects. He/she will be exposed to ongoing research work in machine learning and statistical analysis in the context of neuroimaging and cognitive neuroscience. The research assistant/associate will have the opportunity to liaise and work with other collaborators across the institutes/hospitals in Singapore on research projects and contribute to the presentations and publications of research work. He/she will assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the principal investigator.
