We are looking for an experienced clinical monitor to perform the study monitoring in ADVANcing Clinical Evidence in Infectious Diseases Network (ADVANCE ID). ADVANCE ID is jointly funded by the Wellcome Trust and Singapore institutions including the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. The vision of the Network is to improve public health by developing the clinical evidence base for the prevention and treatment of drug-resistant infections. Its mission is to build and sustain a strategic clinical research network focused on most efficiently delivering locally relevant interventions for drug-resistant infections.

The Network aims to improve and strengthen clinical research capabilities in the region by acting as a platform to develop good principles and practices. It will stabilise capacity and capabilities to mitigate inefficiencies in trial start-up phase and loss of skillset following study closure, as in typical trial setup. The Network will continuously develop its capabilities, quality and efficiency by learning from and collaborating with other clinical trial networks.

In the long term, the Network aims to support broader infectious disease studies by expanding geographically beyond its original starting point in South East Asia and collaborating with other networks around the world. It will function as an active network that involves patients in platform trials, allowing for rapid clinical research response in the event of an emerging infectious disease or pandemic threat.

The monitor should be able to supervise study sites and activities to ensure adherence to appropriate study protocols and applicable regulatory requirement terms of the study.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Conduct qualification visits (QV), site initiation visits (SIV), monitoring visits (MV) and termination visits (TV) at assigned clinical sites and generate visit reports.

Associate Professor Giorgia Pastorin is working closely with the industry to co-develop a pipeline of therapeutics based on a colon targeting 3D printed formulation platform. A/Prof Pastorin is looking for motivated applicants for the role of research assistant in a multi-disciplinary research project involving formulation work, 3D printing, quantitative analysis and drug delivery systems. Aim: To quantify vitamins/mycotoxins in novel soy or algal high protein food produced by TUMCREATE via indoor farming/ extrusion/ fermentation processes. The candidate will utilise these findings in collaboration with food and plant scientists to improve product safety and nutrition.

Mycotoxins and Microbiota: Determining how the human gut microbiota may increase or decrease the dangers of mycotoxins in food

Aim: To quantify mycotoxins in fecal material and in material from in-vitro fecal fermentations and explore how gut microbiota inter-convert mycotoxins into safer or more dangerous forms. The candidate will also explore how variance in gut microbial communities within the Singapore population impacts mycotoxin metabolism. Overall, this project would lead to better understand the risks posed by different mycotoxins in Singapore. This project would suit someone with existing bio-informatic experience.

The National University of Singapore invites applications for the position of Research Assistant for the project entitled “Characterisation of C6orf15 as a marker for epithelial mesenchymal transition and lymph node metastasis in colorectal cancer” within the Department of Surgery, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Main duties and responsibilities

The RA will receive regular direct supervision by the PI. While prior experience working in a laboratory environment would be valuable for this position, this is not critical, as specific molecular biology techniques will be taught by the PI. The RA must however have an interest in the molecular underpinnings of cancer, and have an inquisitive mind and a can-do personality.
