Job Description

The Singapore Population Health Studies (SPHS) is a population-based health research initiative at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore. SPHS aims to investigate the interactions between lifestyle, physiological, genetic and other omics biomarkers and their impact on health and longevity. In addition, SPHS will serve as a platform to monitor risk factors in the population and gain insight into determinants of health-related behaviours. For this purpose, SPHS includes over 50,000 adult Singaporeans and long-term residents from three major ethnic groups (Chinese, Malay, and Indian), for a better understanding of disease aetiology in urban Asian settings, and the development of improved preventive and therapeutic measures for Singapore and other Asian populations.

JOB PURPOSE
This role primarily involves the recruitment and data collection activities of the research projects under the SPHS unit that will contribute towards the building of a population health research biobank for Singapore.

Duties & Responsibilities
1. Take consent from research participants before performing any research procedures
2. Perform basic assessments that include measurements of blood pressure and visual acuity, fundus photography etc. and enter data into the correct electronic form via a tablet. Keep to a turnaround time of 8-10min per participant.
3. Perform spirometry and keep to a turnaround time of 10-15min per participant.

Qualifications

Associate Medical Laboratory Technologists (AMLT) are responsible for the daily operations of the laboratory which include phlebotomy, electrocardiogram, spirometry and clinical laboratory work.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operations of the laboratory
• Perform all procedures in accordance with laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Perform phlebotomy, Electrocardiogram (ECG) and spirometry in an accurate, efficient and professional way.
• Perform Point of Care Testing (e.g. Prothrombin Time, glucose) and clinical laboratory tests such as urinalysis (e.g. Urine FEME, dipstick, pregnancy), haematology (e.g. full blood count, peripheral blood film, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, prothrombin time), biochemistry (e.g. HbA1c, neonate bilirubin), microscopy examination (e.g. fungal smear, high vaginal swab) independently.

Reporting to Centre-IC, Medical Technologist (MT) is responsible for the daily operations and administration of laboratory to ensure compliance to regulations and accreditation standards. Key Responsibilities:

• Strategise and conduct specialist manpower planning in the cluster by working closely with the team on manpower discussions at the clinical service line, monitor the manpower for the future, map out specialty pipeline and identify instability in the workforce, basic analysis of adequacy of manpower, craft and document discussion meetings as well as track the progress of this work;
• Manage the full spectrum of the HR central resourcing of medical specialists from interviewing to on-boarding;
• Co-facilitate the Total Performance Management for clinicians at cluster level from data preparation, analysis and charting to calibration and specialist clinicians’ promotions;
• Keep abreast and work progressively on medical human resource related policies, make recommendations to ensure that they are relevant and in compliance with the regulatory requirements and are up-to-date with the healthcare climate changes;
• Provide professional advice on the interpretation of HR policies, procedures, legislation, manpower planning relating to clinicians;
• Provide supervision and coaching to the junior executives in the team to ensure the effective, efficient and professional delivery of HR plans, programmes, services; and
• Undertake projects/assignments which may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements :

• Minimum 5 years of relevant HR experience in business partnering. Candidates with more relevant HR experience will be considered for the Senior Manager’s position.
• Prior manpower planning experience is a must.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Team player, independent, resourceful and adaptable in a dynamic work environment.
• Digital savvy, analytical skills with proficiency in MS Excel tools for data analysis, building charts.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Stationed in the Central Sterile Supplies Department, you will be deployed to different stations- decontamination, assembly, inspecting, wrapping and sterilization of the dental instruments
• Clean and wash dental instruments
• Sort, assemble, protect, pack and label the dental instruments sets according to the checklist
• Perform validation and sterility tests
• Operating of washer (disinfector)/ steam sterilizer
• Document and verify sterilization loads
• Store and issue sterile instruments

· Analyse, design, development, testing and support of application software systems (in-house developed and off the rack software)

Roll out a palliative care framework that enables DSG to embrace palliative care principles and practices across the care services. Support DSG frontline staff to have palliative care capabilities and support in consolidating palliative care knowledge and resources.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Team Lead in the development of a palliative care framework, its implementation and review of practices.
• Assist in the development of palliative care resources that benefit the community care sector at large.
• Provide clinical support to persons living with dementia and carers to improve their well-being, especially towards the advanced stage of dementia.
• Support DSG frontline staff in palliative care, especially in end-of-life care.
• Conduct case assessments and formulate Individualized Care Plans for persons with dementia and their carers.
• Provide interventions such as psychoeducation, behavioural management, meaningful engagement, supportive counselling, and service referral.
• Conduct Advance Care Planning (ACP) with persons with dementia and their carers.
• Liaise and collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals and external service providers for holistic care management.
• Provide case recordings and relevant documentation.
• Participate in team meetings and case conferences as required.
• Assist in preparing data and statistics for programme evaluation and reporting purposes.
