The HRPC is a first-of-its-kind research centre, established at the NUS, to spearhead and conduct research and development to better enable the future challenges arising from rising ambient heat. The Research Assistant/Associate who will play a key role in assisting in the development, execution and analysis of research aimed at addressing the challenges of training and operating in rising ambient temperatures. The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary group comprising exercise and thermal physiologists, data scientists, biomedical engineers and researchers. This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to not only develop your expertise in research planning and execution, but also to be a part of the team looking to generate fundamental and forward-looking solutions to working in the heat. Specifically, utilising data science approaches involving machine learning and artificial intelligence, A/Prof Gruber’s team focuses on the development and validation of biological ageing clocks for clinical translation and application, as well as in model organisms. Appointments will be made on a two-year contract basis, in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.

Purpose of the post

The successful candidate should have a strong background in both mathematical/machine learning methods and biological laboratory techniques. He or she will also be responsible for data analysis and for developing computational models, algorithms, and tools to analyse and interpret complex biological datasets derived from multi-omics data. The ideal candidate will combine a strong understanding of statistical and machine learning methods, as well as expertise in programming languages such as R and/or Python with training in biology, biochemistry or a related discipline. Industry experience in biotech or pharma would be an advantage.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Research Associate will work with other team members to develop and validate biological ageing clock algorithms, and will be accountable to the Principle Investigator (PI). The Research Associate will be able to:

1. Process and extract biological samples (tissue and clinical origin) for -omics analysis;
2. Develop and apply computational models, algorithms, and tools to analyse and interpret large-scale biological datasets (e.g. genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics);
3. Collaborate with experimental biologists to design and analyse experiments, and interpret results;

5. Stay up-to-date on new computational methods and tools, and apply them to ongoing research projects;

As a Marketing Analyst Associate, you'll play a key role in uncovering and understanding the trending insights and opportunities for YouTube as well as understanding the impact of the YouTube marketing’s impact on the certain product area.

• Analyze various data sources, including first-party behavioral data, social data, marketing campaign data, and more, to derive actionable insights.
• Design, create, and manage business dashboards to monitor performance and support data-driven decision-making.
• Structure measurement plans, own quantitative measurement, analyze qualitative inputs from trackers and primary research, and deliver comprehensive campaign reporting.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and other deliverables to effectively communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences. This involves translating insights into simple and intuitive communications.
• Work with cross-functional stakeholders to gather relevant data and conduct business analysis with effective project communication and management

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a research or quantitative field (e.g., Social Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Economics, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience translating research findings and insights into marketing or business recommendations
• Experience designing, scoping, executing, and delivering research and analysis projects.
• Experience managing research and measurement agencies.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience conducting quantitative analysis of first-party data using SQL or similar.
• Experience with social media platforms, social listening, social management tools.
• Experience building user-facing data dashboards.
• Understanding of APAC markets.
• Ability to communicate in Hindi, Bahasa, Japanese, or Korean to review content in these markets.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the entire recruitment process, including candidate screening, onboarding, and offboarding. This includes but is not limited to advertising positions, conducting interviews, securing job offers, and managing internship programs.
• Administer MOM work pass application, renewal, cancellation, and other related matters.
• Maintain and update employees’ p-file in SharePoint, ensuring information is accurate and current
• Monitoring of staff attendance and providing daily attendance reports to HQ HR.
• Coordinate annual medical check exercises for operational staff.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and assist in updating HR policies & procedures, and the staff handbook.
• Issuance of staff uniforms, monitor and ensure timely replenishment of stock
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as and when assigned by the superior or management.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Basic Certificate in Human Resource Management or equivalent.
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant working experience in a similar job scope
• Basic knowledge of the Employment Act and MOM regulations.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin to communicate with Chinese speaking associate.
