Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is an engineering discipline that combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. At Goldman Sachs, SRE is responsible for improving the availability and reliability of some of the firm’s most critical platform services, and ensures they meet the requirements of our internal and external users. The SRE team develops and maintains platforms and tools which help other engineering teams in Goldman Sachs to build and operate reliable and resilient systems. The platforms we offer range from central logging and tracing to monitoring and alerting and we provide tools to drive adoption and improvements to capacity planning, operational readiness assessments, production incident postmortems, SLIs / SLOs, and deployment automation including canary releases.

The products and services we provide to our internal customers are used by thousands of engineers every day. We believe that reliability is the most important feature of any system, and we are devoted to giving our engineers the platforms and tools they need to build and operate reliable products.

How You Will Fulfil Your Potential

As a developer in the SRE team, you will work with internal customers, product owners, and SREs to design, develop, and support the platforms and tools we provide to other engineering teams to enable them to run reliable large scale production systems spanning cloud and on-prem datacenters.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support SRE platforms and tools
• Create and support automation solutions and build out monitoring and alerting to improve the reliability of the platforms and tools we operate
• Collaborate with other teams to onboard them onto SRE owned platforms and tools and help them implement SRE best practices
• Adhere to and drive SRE disciplines and processes across the global team

Basic Qualifications

• Degree in computer science or engineering with at least 3 years industry experience
• Proficiency in at least one major programming language, preferably in Java or Go and JavaScript / Typescript
• Excellent programming skills including debugging, testing, and optimizing code
• Strong problem solving / analytical skills
• Experience with algorithms, data structures as well as software and system design
• Experience automating operational tasks
• Comfortable with technical ownership, managing multiple stakeholders, and working as part of a global team

Preferred Experience

• Experience with distributed systems design, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Experience with databases / data stores like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch
• Proficiency in using Terraform for Infrastructure deployment and management
• Knowledge of cloud native solutions in AWS or GCP
• Systems experience in Linux and networking, especially in scaling for performance and debugging complex distributed systems
• Experience with monitoring and alerting systems

About The Team

The operations team endeavours to continuously build and deliver a seamless and positive employee experience across the whole employee lifecycle. Responsibilities:

1. Based on the business objectives of the HR Operation team, develop a system strategy plan and implementation roadmap;

2. Develop or review system project management plans, supervise project progress status and identify risks, ensure that HR Operation system projects are successfully delivered;

3. Cooperate with Global Operation Improvement process experts and front-line operation teams to analyze business requirements and evaluate system solutions, ensure that the HR Operation system project is launched, and accepted by front-line operation colleagues;

4. Based on the seven main processes of HR Operations: onboarding, offboarding, transfer, dispatch, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and employee helpdesk, drive the direction of system iteration to ensure that the system and process can serve HR operation business operation in the long run;

5. Continuously improve the HR Operation system request management and system project management mechanism to ensure that the mechanism is effectively implemented and the demand is delivered with high quality and efficiency;

6. Cooperate with four regional Operation Improvement teams worldwide to continuously improve the regional demand analysis and reporting capabilities, and improve the quality of regional system requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or above, major in human resources, computer science, information management, or related fields;

2. Project Experiences in system implementation and HR business processes for large groups or internet companies;

3. Strong ability to understand and analyze requirements, systematic and structured logical thinking ability;

4. Has deep insight into business, highly sensitive to data, able to handle complex business models and independently complete configurations;

5. Possess strong communication and teamwork skills; 6. Strong learning ability, self-motivation and stress resistance;

7. Possess high execution ability and a down-to-earth work spirit.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience in implementing large-scale system projects such as SAP and Workday;

2. Fluent in English, and experience in implementing overseas HR system projects are preferred;

What is Front Office Desktop Support responsible for?

Front Office Desktop Support provides technology and functional support to internal clients for issues including hardware, operating system, desktop/web applications, mobility, conferencing, and printing. Our goal is to increase users’ ability to self-service, automate contacts, enhance users’ experience, and support users in adopting new technologies. We are the primary customer interface with technology and are responsible for supporting all customer facing technologies.

What is the Associate IS Analyst-Technical Support responsible for?

Provide desktop support for Franklin Templeton employees. This includes addressing their technical issues, requests, and support of the IT Infrastructure.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position?

• Provide on-site technical support and customer service as well as remote user support
• Running of the server room. Able to effectively isolate issues relating to power supply, UPS, air conditioning and infrastructure cabling
• Maintain accurate tracking of tape media, loading/ unloading of tape media for backup and restoration
• Participate and conduct Disaster Recovery exercise for local office and regional offices
• Build customer relationships with the senior level employees and administrative support personnel in the office and travel to our other offices in the region
• Accountability for addressing technical issues in a timely manner and providing concise and timely updates
• Address issues that arise within the local office and tickets for local and remote users routed from the service desk
• Coordinate, setup, and support technologies used in Conference Rooms
• Provide Audio Visual Support for internal meetings as well as domestic offsite meetings
• Provide support for trading and investment management technologies
