What You’ll Do

People, Culture and Communications - Wellbeing & Workplace Relations oversees Telstra's wellbeing and workplace relations programs. In this role, you'll bring the purpose of your role to life working in a specialised team or CoE, you will provide subject matter expertise in the management of a range of employment matters, or delivery of employment related projects. Depending on the specialisation, these may include:

• Support the implementation of Employee Relations initiatives and programs to achieve the business’ people strategies.
• Provide advice to people leaders to support management of employee issues, including conduct management, workplace investigations, performance management, employee health and absence issues; and discrimination, bullying and harassment, matters
• Manage high risk and complex employee matters including: Whistleblower investigations, internal dispute resolution and redundancy appeals
• Advise on HR issues with deep understanding and knowledge HR policies and procedures legislation
• Represent the organisation in external matters at the Fair Work Commission and tribunals
• Provide support for organisational initiatives such as restructuring, enterprise bargaining and mergers & acquisitions.
• Participate in cross company HR/ people related projects.

About You

• Minimum 3 years of experience in local HR knowledge and policies.

Role

The successful candidate will be part of the Global Public Affairs team, and will support the team’s efforts in managing global public policy risks for SHEIN, including implementing strategies / plans to enhance SHEIN’s credibility and corporate reputation in the following domain areas relevant to the company’s business: ESG, tech and data, and trade and investment.

The successful candidate will contribute to the analysis and assessment of key public policies across SHEIN’s global markets, and the development of recommendations to internal teams on regulatory and operational implications. He/she will also support the development of strategic plans to help SHEIN manage global policy risks and enhance its corporate reputation. In addition, he/she will work closely with relevant teams to develop global strategic partnerships across ESG, tech and data, or trade and investment domain areas, and to communicate key global projects/initiatives to both internal and external stakeholders.

In this role, the candidate must be able to work effectively with various teams, including SHEIN’s global and market-based Government Relations, Public Relations, Sustainability and business/operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Track, monitor and provide assessment of ESG, tech and data, and trade and investment policy issues and their implications to SHEIN’s business and operations
• Support the development of recommendations to senior management and relevant internal teams on strategies to manage public policy risks and enhance SHEIN’s corporate reputation
• Support the development of strategic partnerships with key global stakeholders (e.g. non-governmental and international organisations, industry associations, government officials and regulators, industry and business organisations), for instance public-private partnerships, strategic investment, business development, or social impact projects
• Organise and manage meetings with external parties related to ESG, tech and data, and trade and investment issues, including the preparation of briefing notes/presentations for senior management’s reference
• Support the development of SHEIN’s annual sustainability and social impact report and other strategic communications materials in support of the company’s overall policy positioning and profiling

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in International Relations, Political Science, Global Studies, Law, Economics or related field
• At least 5 years of working experience in government relations or public policy relevant to ESG in either the public or private sector
• Keen interest in public-private partnerships, strategic investment, business development or social impact projects, with the ability to translate high-level objectives into practical outcomes
• Strong analytical, presentation (written and oral) and project management skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
