Assistant Senior Counsellor/ Assistant Senior Social Worker

Roles & Responsibilities
You will be part of our FAM@FSC team to support families and individuals to enhance their resilience, psychological functioning and family relationships. The job scope include:
- To work directly with individuals, couples, families and children to provide counselling services.
- To work with divorced/divorcing parents to address co-parenting disputes.
- To facilitate supervised visitation sessions with child(ren) and Visiting Parents for acrimonious divorce cases.
- To conduct psycho-educational and therapeutic groupwork programmes for parents and children.
- To maintain proper case documentation and programme statistics and adhere to professional practice standards and services model.
- To prepare reports to Family Justice Court for court mandated cases.
- To perform other duties as assigned.
Job requirements
Technical Competencies:
- For assistant senior counsellor position:
- A minimum qualification of a master’s degree in counselling recognized by Singapore Association of Counselling (SAC)
- Registered clinical member with SAC (or in the process of applying).
- For assistant senior social worker position:
- A minimum qualification of a recognised bachelor’s degree in social work (or higher).
- Registered social worker with SWAAB (or in the process of applying).
- At least 4-5 years of work experiences in relevant field.
- Experiences in marital and parenting counselling.
- Ability to assess and manage risks (family violence, child abuse and suicide) when it is detected.
Core Competencies:
- Able to work closely with other professionals within and outside the agency to provide holistic and effective therapeutic and groupwork services.
- Able to work with highly conflictual couples and families.
- Able to comply data for reporting and/or trend analysis.
- Able to work on Saturdays and some weekday evenings.
Preferred achievements / characteristics:
- Good coordination and collaborative skills.
- Capability to take on a leadership role when the situations require it.
- Fluent in another language such as Mandarin, Malay or Tamil will be useful.
- Excellent team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Competent in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, PPT, etc.
