The Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB) at the Singapore Management University (SMU) invites applicants for the position of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Marketing on the practice/education track.

Practice track and education track faculty members at SMU are an important complement to faculty on the research track. They are excellent educators who create impact through their teaching and engagement with the industry, while also making intellectual contributions to their field.

We welcome applications from candidates who have a strong teaching record and who have a record of publication in top marketing journals, applied journals, and/or education journals.

About the Marketing Area

The marketing area at LKCSB is a research-focused group of faculty who have collectively published in all of the top journals in the field. Its faculty have PhDs from reputable institutions in North America, Europe, and Australia. It is a culturally-diverse, vibrant, and collegial group.

Grants and other funding are available to support research. Faculty also have access to a well-equipped behavioural lab and a subject pool for data collection. To support teaching and spur instructional innovation, the Centre for Teaching Excellence at SMU provides resources and conducts workshops for faculty. The University also has excellent industry contacts for those interested in applied work.

Job Descriptions:

Admissions

• Arranged for admissions interviews with applicants and faculty members
• Involve in Admissions Teas and virtual sharing sessions
• Supports the organisation of Admissions outreach events

Publicity

• Manages the office's publicity and communication tools and platforms, including but not limited to the website, e-newsletters, social media (Facebook, Instagram, Blog and Chat (WhatsApp), printed collaterals etc
• Update reports for internal and external communication purposes

Student Club Matters (throughout the contract period)

• Work closely with Club to organise activities
• Provide advice to Committee in activities proposal writing

Overseas Learning

• Advises students on education abroad programme options, opportunities and requirements.
• Assists students with the study abroad application process, including advising on financial aid and scholarships, courses equivalency process, registration, transcripts, credits and other administrative tasks
• Processes applications, logistics and manage scholars placement in partner schools
• Facilitates course matching process between scholars, home programmes and partner schools
• Handles all communications between departments, partner schools and scholars

• 6 months contract

Working Hours:

• Mon to Thurs: 8.30 am to 5.45 pm
• Fri: 8.30 am to 5.15 pm

Salary:

• up to $3800 depend on experience

Job Requirements:

• A degree holder with a minimum of 2-3 years of working experience, preferably in Communication and related fields
• Ability to manage live streaming and online platforms
• Well-versed in use of social media for outreach
• Must enjoy a dynamic working environment and with positive thinking
• Able to work as a team player and liaise with internal and external parties
• Good written and spoken language
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Must enjoy meeting and interacting with people
