The Senior / Accounts Executive – Accounts Payable’s core responsibilities are audit, processing and timely payment of all hotel payments.

What will I be doing?

As the Senior / Accounts Executive – Accounts Payable, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Responsible for leading and ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the Accounts Payable function.
• Account for and audit all purchase orders, receive records and suppliers’ invoices (purchase invoices matching procedure).
• Ensure all invoices have proper supporting documents and authorization before processing payment.
• Follow up on any discrepancies noted between supplier invoices and relevant supporting documents.
• Ensure proper filing of Hotel supplier contracts and updating of supplier contracts listing.
• Review and ensure accurate updating of cost distributions and account codes for all suppliers’ invoices and credit memos before finalising of monthly profit and loss accounts.
• Ensure that proper supporting documents are obtained before assisting with the creation of Vendor accounts in accounting system.
• Balance suppliers’ monthly statements to the hotel’s accounting records and follow up promptly on any discrepancies noted.
• Answer suppliers’ and other parties’ queries relating to payments and suppliers.
• Assist with month-end closing journals relating to Accounts Payable and Accruals.
• Review month-end Accounts Payable ageing report and provide explanation for unpaid invoices aged over 60 days.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned by Cluster Accountant.

• 2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the Hospitality industry.

• Proficient in English to meet business needs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, etc.

[What you will be working on]

You will be working in a fast-paced and highly volatile environment that may require you to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time. You will work with the industries in the western part of Singapore to ensure the EPMA and its Regulations are complied with, as well as be part of a team to review and enhance NEA’s concept of operations for responding to environmental pollution incidents. Your key responsibilities will include the following:

• Manage and co-ordinate a team to inspect trade and industrial premises to ensure compliance with pollution control, hazardous substances, and toxic industrial waste requirements.

• Respond to environmental pollution incidents during and after office hours.

• Attend to feedback from public pertaining to pollution matters.

• Conduct technical assessments and evaluate environmental requirements for new industrial and trade premises.

• Develop and review the concept of operations for responding to environmental pollution incidents.

• Support the procurement and equipping plan for laboratory and relevant analytical equipment.

• Prepare reports and presentations to senior management on environmental related issues.

[What we are looking for]

The job might be for you if you possess the following qualities:

• Degree in Chemical/Environmental Engineering

• Knowledgeable in principles of environmental sampling and pollution control.

• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, e.g. toggling excel, functions, coming up with creative presentations.

• Organised and able to multi-task.

• Mature, independent and resourceful.

• Preferably, possesses a Class 3 driving licence.

• Able to work on weekends and after office hours, when required.
