Job Description
Report to and is accountable to an Engineering Manager, Engineering Section Leader, or a higher titled engineer (as defined by the manager) and is responsible for performing engineering activities as defined in procedures and work instructions.
Job Duties
· Shall include performing hand or computer assisted calculations, creation of DVR packages for safety critical equipment, review and approval of engineering drawings, processing engineering design changes, interfacing with other Dril-Quip departments, participating in Engineering Design Reviews and dispositioning NCR’s.
· Additionally, this position is responsible for creating new product designs and/or improving existing product designs.
· Interacts with customers/suppliers/vendors and assists with development of technical specifications.
· Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments.
· Has fundamental understanding of various industry standards (both regional and global) in addition to recommended practices.
· Can direct and mentor younger, less experienced engineering personnel.
Minimum Requirements
· Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
· Typically, a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the design and application of engineered offshore drilling and production equipment, preferably in an oilfield equipment manufacturing environment.
Preferred Requirements
· Knowledge of connectors, diverters and mudlines will be of added advantage.
