As part of the mission, we are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to work in our Singapore Laser Manufacturing facility in Kaki-Bukit, Singapore who can drive improvements in the quality and reliability of fiber based and solid-state laser products and production processes. This role will have responsibility for developing, maintaining, and improving the Quality control systems and processes for a variety of critical laser systems as well as leading by influence to drive quality within the culture of the organization.

A successful candidate will have a strong work ethic to meet the occasional high intensity workload for customer commitments. A persuasive personality with strong communications skills is needed to influence key cross-functional stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

• Quality engineering support for manufacturing and project management
• Develop inspection requirements; facilitate PFMEAs; resolve discrepant material issues and create and maintain quality documents such as control plans and inspection plans
• Act as the quality interface for the laser production team in responding to customer complaints using failure analysis, development of corrective and preventative actions and trend analysis
• Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, create audit finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventative actions
• Coach and mentor Quality Engineers.
• Support validation activity of processes, equipment, and metrology
• Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and requirements
• Establish and maintain quality control processes and procedures for optomechanical components and systems.
• Develop and maintain quality documentation including inspection plan, test protocols, quality control procedures and reports.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure their compliance with quality requirements and drive continuous improvements.
• Actively participate in Continuous Improvement Initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma projects to enhance Quality, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Masters Degree in Mechanical, Optical, Optomechanical Engineering or related Engineering Science
• 6 years of experience in engineering in a machining or manufacturing setting
• With good experience in optic testing, optic inspection and experience liaising with optic suppliers and manufaturers.
• Experience in Optomechanical design including knowledge of optical principles, components, and optical system integration.
• Solid understanding of Mechanical Engineering Principles including Structural analysis, Material selection, Tolerance analysis and Manufacturing Process.
• Knowledge in integrating optical components including alignment, fixture design and calibration procedures.
• Knowledge of quality systems, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
• Advanced knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T
• Ability to operate a variety of inspection equipments
• Statistical expertise with DOE and Capability Studies
• Design software- CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), Minitab, Python, Jump etc
• Strong and thorough knowledge of quality engineering discipline, including:
  • Quality data collection and data analysis
  • Understanding of statistical methods, including population sampling, hypothesis testing
  • Problem Solving techniques such as 8-D, 5-why, Fishbone / Fault tree, PFMEA, K-T

Preferred Qualifications / Competencies:

• Previous Laser or Optics industry experience is highly desired.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques, such as Weibull Analysis and Gage R&R, as well as appropriate software tools, such as Minitab or JMP
• Familiarity with the following areas: Process Validations (IQ, QQ, PQ), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Structured Problem Solving (8D) and/or Root Cause Analysis - Corrective and Preventive Actions (RCA-CAPA)
• Previous experience with Risk Management, Engineering Change Control, Handling of Deviations and Non-conformances & Lean Six Sigma
• Experience working with cross functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Sales)
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

1. Over-all in-charge for Planning and Site Operation

2. Ensures all company’s ISO, safety, environment policy and procedures are complied with.

3. Liaise with Client, Authorities, Consultant, QS, Purchasing and Subcontractors

4. To monitor and chase Authorities submission & approval for Structure, Architectural and M&E.

5. Chair progress meeting and presentation to Client and Consultants.

6. Monitor & Comply to Master Programme and create micro schedules for all work trades.

7. Closely monitoring of site progress and to resolve whatever site obstruction to expedite works.

8. Monitor Coordinators & Engineers and ensure all communication will transmit to all parties (Architectural, Structural & M&E – staff & subcontractors)

9. Monitor and chase Contract Department to award subcontractor works

10. Monitor and chase Materials sample submission for all trades to consultant / client approval.

11. Monitor and assist Coordinator & Engineer to Prepare Method Statement for approval.

12. To assist Coordinator and Engineer for preparation of required Mock Up unit.

13. Ensure that all information is distributed to all site staff, sub-contractors, suppliers and all other trades involve in the project.

14. Correspondences to Consultants, Subcontracts and HQ.

15. Maintains and ensure all testing requirements and records are in place.

16. Ensures all discrepancies are resolved with the consultants in the shortest time required.

17. Monitor daily activity report from respective site staff

18. Liaise with, Structure Engineer, Architectural Coordinator and M&E Engineer for daily progress of work to ensure meet the target schedule of the Project completion.

19. Performs daily site inspection to ensure work progress is align to the schedule.

20. Performs daily inspection to ensure safety provision on site.

21. To ensure all safety documents are in place to get ready for any Authority Inspection.

22. Performs daily site inspection to resolve site problems with the structure Engineer, Architectural Coordinator, M&E Engineer & Site Supervisors.

23. Accompanies Consultants and Client for any site inspection if neccesary

24. Monitor all site works to ensure they follow according to contract and specifications.

25. Conducts site meetings as and when required in regard to site issues.

26. Inspect works carried out by subcontractors are in-accord with approved trade demonstration

Job Description

· Lead one or multiple product development, Responsible for mechanical design and overall product specification.

· Study for certain market and industry, provide solutions and proposal for new development.

· Concept design and machines/modules design & develop according to requirement and specification.

· Work with whole team for pneumatic and electrical design and electrical component layout.

· Work together among different parties for product development.

· Lead/guide junior engineers for mechanical design, assembly and detail drawings, BOM and product documentation.

· Evaluate technical specifications of third-party components used for own developments.

· Product continuous development and improvement.

· Communicate with 3rd party or sub-con for contract development if needed.

Education

· Bachelor/Master degree in mechanical/mechatronic engineering or related studies.

Work experience

· >8 years’ experience in mechanical/machine/automation design

Expertise and methodology

· 3D design software experience, such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo etc.

· Industrial automation knowledge, including motor, pneumatics, sensor, vision, bearing, linear slide etc.

· Understanding fabrication process & materials and know how to control tolerance.

· Calculation capability for standard product selection and machines design.

· Product Lifecycle Management and use of PLM Tools.

· Knowledge of industrial4.0, HMI and IloT.

· Understand product/machine development process and milestone.

· Comprehensive knowledge of MS-Office applications

Requirements
