The Department of Chinese Studies, National University of Singapore (NUS), is one of the leading institutions in the world in the fields of Chinese Studies and Chinese Language, and a major centre in Southeast Asia. For Academic Year 2024-25, the Department is inviting applications for up to two fully funded postdoctoral fellows for 1 year. Postdoctoral fellows are chosen from a competitive selection process. They will spend one year with the department working on research for a book manuscript or articles. In addition, they are expected to deliver a research seminar during their fellowship and teach one course for the department. Qualifications

A doctoral degree is required by one month prior to the start of the fellowship. Candidates must provide confirmation of successful completion of their terminal doctoral degree, in the form of a diploma or a certificate of completion from the degree-granting institution’s Registrar. Applicants may not be more than three years beyond the receipt of their doctoral degree at the start of the fellowship. Operations Executive (Customer Service)

The Operations Executive (Customer Service) is responsible for the execution and control of the full spectrum of customer support functions - customers’ order processing, delivery management and order management.

Responsibilities

1) Order Processing

• Perform shipment coordination for export orders with inter-companies and overseas customers.
• Acknowledge customer's order (if required), entering order into system, invoicing, establish the most cost effective and efficient delivery arrangements with the necessary documents (eg. Certificate of Analysis / Compliance and end user license etc).
• Rectify customer's feedback on ordering, billing, deliveries discrepancies, and complex problems which require independent action to correct and/or prevent.

5) Reporting

• Monthly reporting (AR Aging above 90 days, KIV PO and Expiring Inventories within 6 & 9 Months for Follow Up Plan).
• Maintain an effective reporting system to ensure minimum error in operations and advocate cost-saving measures to maintain a lean management philosophy.

6) Others

• To participate in digitalization transformation projects as assigned.

Pre-requisites:

Technical requirements:

Understands the specifications and requirements in the area of mechanical rotating equipment (such as centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps and others) within the assigned package. - Responsible for mechanical design and selection of rotating equipment in accordance with applicable international codes according to ITB or relevant specification.

Engineering document preparation:

Under minimum guidance, prepares technical specifications/standards and requisitions.

Supplier selection:

Under minimum guidance, evaluates the technical and engineering aspects of bids received from suppliers and gives assessment to the senior engineer.

Supplier management:

Assists in placing and executing the orders. For approval, reviews submitted from suppliers’ documents (such as data sheets, drawings and procedures) for their fabrication and compliance. To be a focal point, communicates and coordinates with stakeholders.

Support for other discipline:

Provides technical/engineering support/visit and cooperates for raising the quality level at fabrication shop and participated in construction / commissioning work at site under guidance by the lead/senior engineers.

Technical issue resolution:

With minimum guidance, resolves technical issues using acquired knowledge during the execution of engineering stage, fabrication stage and post-delivery.

Qualifications:

As a Senior Scientific Officer, you will be tasked but not limited to planning and executing the grant-making process, annual budgeting, exploring funding opportunities, and managing documents and deadlines. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading specific research programmes in remote sensing technology and applications.
