1. Assessment (Social Investigation)

• Schedule investigation interviews promptly with the Intake Centre and client.
• Interview the client and relevant persons / stakeholders to make a reasonable and fair assessment of the client.
• Prepare the social investigation report for vetting by the supervisor.
• Right site the client to a community setting or welfare home within the DPA (30-day timeframe).

2. Casework

A. Engagement & Assessment

• Develop professional & engaged relationships with clients and other key service stakeholders (e.g. Family Service Centres (FSCs), Social Service Offices (SSOs), Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), etc.)
• Conduct mentoring sessions for all assigned clients as per the service model requirements.
• Conduct needs assessment and risk assessment for complex cases and refer to the relevant agencies for intensive case management.
• Co-manage complex cases with the relevant agencies regularly.

B. Case Review & Documentation

• Prepare social reports / case recordings following the requirements of New Hope CS and ensure documentation is in place.
• Ensure the database is timely updated.
• Consistently collect relevant documents from clients to prepare for submission to the funder at the end of the contract period.
• Meet the deadline for submission of reports.

C. Supervision

• Attend individual and group supervision as scheduled regularly.
• Meet the supervision hours required by the funder.

3. Candidate Requirements

Technical Competencies:

• Degree in Social Work or Post-Graduate Diploma in Social Work from an accredited institution
• Accredited as a Registered Social Worker with SASW
• At least 2 years of Social Work / Case Management experience is preferred.

SG Cares is a national movement to build a caring and inclusive home for all, where Singaporeans can show care and consideration to others. In 2018, pilot studies on how to grow more volunteers and better channel their efforts to areas where they can have greater impact in the neighbourhood were established in two towns.

The pilots showed that a dedicated effort at the local-level to grow the volunteer pool, build their capabilities, and coordinate the demand and supply of volunteers, was important to make a sustained impact. Hence, MCCY will be partnering community groups to establish Volunteer Centres (VC) for volunteer matching, deployment and training in the towns.

The VC will help:

a. build volunteer management capabilities;

b. broker sustained partnerships between volunteering groups; and

c. work with service providers to meet their needs for volunteers

2. Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Management

• Provide support in the overall aspect of the volunteer management programme (Recruitment, Training and Retention) for the town of Kreta Ayer / Bukit Merah
• Network and form partnerships with corporates, schools, religious organizations, and other ground-up volunteer groups
• Coordinate meetings with multiple stakeholders and follow up on volunteering initiatives and projects
• Support the development of framework and training curriculum for volunteers
• Organise and provide support in events including formal or informal recognition, reward programmes, and appreciation events for volunteers
• Document and monitor outcomes
• Maintain and update Volunteer Programme materials (such as applications, policies and procedures, volunteer handbook, etc)
• Support all secretariat work and reports of the volunteer programmes to management, internal and external stakeholders
• Update and manage database of volunteers to ensure accurate and up-to-date records

Marketing and Communication

• Support the development of strategy and operationalize plans to market the services and volunteering opportunities to community and corporate partners
• Plan and manage all publicity efforts to drive volunteer recruitment and organise outreach events
• Support in the management of the social media account and help to generate content
