Job Responsibility
1. Set up flavour creation lab in Singapore
2. Develop from scratch and innovative sweet & savoury flavours aligned with business needs and market trends in South East Asia
3. Resolve complex flavour formulation challenges
4. Work with procurement and HQ in identifying and selecting innovative raw materials
5. Support product transfer process by adapting formulas to local requirements
6. Validate formulas and provide support to junior flavourist in ensuring full compliance with good lab & formulation practice
7. Ensure cost effectiveness of new creations
8. Lead flavour creation, sensory & analytical and mentor the team
9. Act as subject matter expert and support sales & marketing team in global innovation
10. Collaborate with application teams for flavour evaluation, application and ensure the best performance of finished product for customers
11. Manage all types of projects of all levels of difficulty
12. Manage the work of flavorists to ensure the highest level of quality, data & information security, and HS&E practices in the lab.
Profile
1. Degree in chemistry / food science, master is a plus
2. ā„20 years' experience as flavourist with a major flavour house.
3. Proven development of successful innovative and complex flavours across categories and types
4. Ideally with flavour system approach experience
5. Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and application properties (liquid, spray dry, compacting, thermal process flavour, emulsions, encapsulation etc)
6. Experience in leading a team in an advantage
7. Passionate about flavour and positive, ācan doā attitude with open minded approach
8. Competitive and a self-starter, a leader rather than a follower
9. Good application knowledge
10. Good project management skills
11. Good communication and interpersonal skills
