As part of the Sectoral Transformation Group in IMDA, the SMEs Go Digital Division aims to make going digital simple for SMEs. With digital technology transforming every sector of Singapore’s economy, it is essential that our SMEs have the digital technologies and capabilities to seize growth opportunities in the digital economy.

In support of this effort, the SMEs Go Digital Division develops Industry Digital Plans (IDP) as a roadmap to guide SME's digital adoption and capability development, as well as supports technology adoption by SMEs through the curation and pre-approval of suitable digital solutions.

What You Will Be Working On

Support the creation and update of assigned sectors’ Industry Digital Plans:

• Perform market scan for specific sectors, technical reviews, and technology assessment with domain leads/experts including but not limited to Cyber Security, Internet of Things, Robotics Process Automation, Blockchain, Personal Data Security, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud
• Study how latest digital technology trends can impact the sectors, identify potential risk/issues, and analyse SMEs’ adoption and utilisation data to identify opportunities for redesigning processes to maximise business outcomes at both enterprise and industry levels
• Creating a library of industry and technology knowledge for the SMEs Go Digital division, including the consolidation and creation of artefacts to documents the technology landscape, key players and segments, demos, tech specifications, experiments and results, key contacts, and assessment of technologies and solutions
• Simplify information and technical jargons so it is easily understood by internal stakeholders and SMEs

Architecting and curating industry-specific solutions that could be widely adopted by Singapore SMEs in the near term

• Define and launch call-for-proposals to support the transformation and development of new solutions of assigned sectors
• Provides additional technological support to the Solution Curation team to identify and determine the qualification, and qualify, of ready-to-use solutions for SMEs
• Coordinate with and leverage other technology research and development teams within IMDA to define specific implementations of the latest technologies for the assigned sectors

What We Are Looking For

• Background in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business IT or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience with solution architecture, pre-sales, or technology research on projects involving digital technologies
• Strong working knowledge in ICT (added advantage if you have one or more technical knowledge domain in Cyber Security, Internet of Things, Robotics Process Automation, Blockchain, Personal Data Security, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Technology etc.)
• Strong communication and stakeholder management to bring across clarity in technical solutions for various audiences

Define and curate impactful digital solutions readily adoptable by SMEs in assigned sectors:

• Jointly define the business objectives and outcomes for Digitalisation with your sector lead agencies
• Source and evaluate market-ready solutions with strong and potential to deliver on your defined business objectives and outcomes
• Define and create transparent and simple checklists of requirements for solutions vendors to evaluate their own solutions for ‘market readiness’, including key functional, performance, and compliance requirements for their sectors
• Perform approval processing of solutions vendors applying for their solution to be pre-approved as a supported solution within different government funding schemes, including but not limited to the Productivity Solutions Grant programme
• Regularly measure and improve performance and relevancy of solution portfolio in assigned sector

Assist the Solutions Curation Team Lead in the following:

• Build an understanding of the solutions landscape and the relative performance of each solution
• Measure performance of approved solutions, including but not limited to total adoption, adoption across time periods, solution usage, productivity gained,
• Evaluate and recommend changes to the solutions within assigned sector depending on factors such as take-up, usage, pricing, and other changes to market conditions
• Collaborate with sector lead agencies to suggest, define, and create new solution categories that are aligned to, or are to be added to the industry’s IDP

Continually evaluate and improve solution curation and onboarding process and structures:

• Redesign processes and policies, and implement changes, together with team lead, product team, and sector lead agencies for an efficient and delightful experience for all stakeholders

Job Purpose:

Over the past decade, mRNA therapeutics have shown promise in a broad range of therapeutic applications, including infectious diseases, genetic disorders, cancer, regenerative medicine, and vaccines. They have gained significant attention and have shown clinical success, especially with the recent development and emergency use authorization of mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines.

A key feature of mRNA medicines is their high degree of customizability. Optimal production of therapeutic proteins from mRNA medicines requires a thorough understanding of the interplay between nucleotide sequence, nucleotide modification and RNA structure in affecting translational efficiency and mRNA stability. This project aims to establish a workflow to quantify mRNA half-lives in a high throughput manner within cells and to understand how different physiological conditions (within LNPs or ex vivo) impact mRNA half-lives. The methods established in this project could ultimately drive different mRNA therapeutic pipeline projects.

Pharmaceutical Technical Operations (PTO) is part of the our Manufacturing Division, where we deliver cost effective medicines and consumer healthcare products to patients around the world every day through innovation, technical and scientific excellence. PTO Chemist Intern

As part of the Pharmaceutical Technical Operations (PTO) team in Singapore, the PTO Chemist intern provides support in the technical laboratory in terms of chemical processes and analysis for various manufacturing facilities at the site, along with maintaining housekeeping and safety standards in the laboratory.

The PTO Chemist Intern's main responsibilities are as follows:

• Support laboratory operations / laboratory management activities through maintaining inventory management system and laboratory housekeeping

• Perform analysis using various analytical techniques (spectrometry and chromatography) in supporting various plant and utilities improvement initiatives.

• Support process understanding or improvement projects through experiments and/or process/analytical method evaluation and familiarisation.

• Assist in process trending and data collection for process monitoring purposes.

• Complies with all divisional and site-specific policies, guidelines and procedures. Demonstrates and promotes Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) leadership behaviours, ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with EHS requirements. Actively participates in GEMBA safety walks.

Job Requirements:

• Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field, including Chemistry /Applied Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or Chemical/Biological/Mechanical Engineering

• Demonstrated capability in application of sound engineering and scientific principles, project management skills and structured/analytical problem solving techniques

• An excellent team player who is able to readily take on responsibilities and work independently

• Able to commit to a 6-month internship is preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, forecasts and communicates engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.  Provides input to outsourcing decisions by performing make versus buy analysis.  Coordinates demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
• Participates in Materials Core Team and coordinates product development process deliverables with team members (buyers, planners, production control).
• Supports the creation, releases, and updates to new project materials strategy.
• Participates in commercialization (transition) materials plan. Participates in the material change control change process.
