Stakeholder management

At regional level:

Acts as primary interface with business lines (Business COOs, Conduct & Control Officers, Front-Office Conduct & Surveillance) as well as Compliance to:

• Collect, analyze and document business scenarios for the use of voice and chat channels
• Understand business interactions with clients and other external counterparties, and their expectations when communicating
• Identify risk and conduct scenarios and contribute to create the framework to address them, including user awareness and consequence management
• Establish and enforce a clear RACI with all stakeholders on the execution of their processes and controls

Drive IT teams (Voice, Chat, Archiving, Digital Working, IT Support, Access Management) to guarantee their delivery of:

• Robust technical solutions meeting business and client demands, whether internally developed or relying on vendors
• Technical controls around proper archiving, security and surveillance of channels

At global level:

• Prioritize and plan with global teams the solutions expected by APAC within the global Voice & E-comm Record Keeping (VERK) and Surveillance frameworks
• Obtain validation of APAC plans by global stakeholders through the established governance

Project management

• Track functional aspects of projects: business cases, operational controls, conduct risks and scenarios, legal requirements, awareness & training
• Maintain synchronization with global and regional IT teams on their deliveries of archiving and surveillance solutions as well as technical controls to mitigate IT risks
• Report progress and address project risks and issues with senior management
• Contribute to providing regular updates in monthly steering committees and ad-hoc presentations

• Familiar with the technical set-up, usage, recording and surveillance of voice and chat communication channels which are most popular in APAC and globally. Knowledge of end-to-end technical flows into archiving and surveillance back-end systems
• Very comfortable with the use of Office tools to draft process and SOP documents, analyze data and track metrics, and present clear and concise updates and executive messages to senior management
• Fluency in Chinese Mandarin is a plus

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to lead a team, providing coverage for Infrastruture and Sponsors. The person is this role will be expected to work with the management of the E&I space, exhancing cross sell across he business and also be responsible for Originating strategic manadatescross platform. This role will have accoutnability to the Chair of Energy and Infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities

1) Enhance Cross-Selling

Through structured coverage, achieve a higher share of cross-selling to include not only corporate and structured finance but including:

• Underwriting mandates (LCMA)
• Flow banking (GMTAP and TBDAP)
• DCM (with Nikko)
• M&A (with Jefferies)

2) Infra Funds Coverage

• Acting as key senior interface between SMBC and infrastructure sponsors by developing and maintaining senior relationships together with GFIG and ASDV Head of Sponsor Coverage.
• Joint-lead account plan and coordination with internal stakeholders to ensure adequate resources are mobilized toward delivering the sector strategy
• Participate in E&I portfolio review and strategic sector review to set the overall strategy in APAC in the sector including second line.

3) Origination of Strategic Mandates

• Maintain and develop relationship with key financial sponsors, asset managers and private credit specialists in support of the APAC Alt-AM strategy developed by ASDV, specifically but not limited to, the infrastructure sector.
• Contribute to fund raising effort of join companies such as SMDAM by cultivating broader relationship with potential client / LP investors
• Originate jointly with ASDV product team, high value add advisory jointly with Group Companies like Nikko and Jefferies

KPIs

• Generate [X] high profile value add advisory mandates and event driven financing opportunities
• Grow the share of SMBC revenue wallet with Core E&I Clients measured against the FY23 base
• Contribute to growing cross-sell for the Core E&I Clients and more broadly the E&I vertical (measured as share of non-lending revenue) and sector / clients ROE

Incremental gross income target $[X]m in Year 1 and $[Y]m in the following years. [Gross income will be direct advisory fees and shadow income from cross-sell to other departments and associated companies]

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics or Business
• Masters / CFA preferred
• Minimum 10-15 years of Experience in Investment Banking and Finance
• Experience in Project Finance, Private Equity, Venture Cap, Advisory or Funds Sponsor Finance preferred
• Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with C-suite executives and sponsors
• Exceptional analytical skills in valuation, deal structuring and assessment
• Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities for both clients and the bank

• Working Hours: 5 days, 8.30am- 6pm
• Salary: $6500 - $8000 + $500 transport allowance
• Location: Geylang, and required to travel to 15 branches. Company will be moving to Woodlands Senoko in 2026

Requirements:

• At least Diploma in Business Management or any related fields
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in F&B operations with at least 3 years’ experience in leading at least a market chain outlets as Operations Manager or equivalent

• High analytical skills to identify opportunities and trends in making business decisions
• Excellent computer skills in Power point, Words & Excel
