The System Administrator/Engineer (SA/E) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual

Job Description

- Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements

- Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures

- Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale

- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups, and related administration tasks

- Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary

- Provide 24 by 7 technical support per request from various constituencies. Investigate, troubleshoot issues and provide professional recommendations and solutions

- Develop an in-depth knowledge of the system’s infrastructure and its integration with the various applications. Provide professional consultations and solutions as necessary

- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies

- Provide Desktop support and recovery services

- Managing, maintaining and supporting Middleware and other application software implementations and solutions. (WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Message Queue, IBM Integration Bus, IBM MessageSight, IBM DataStage) Maintenance

- Develop new and/or maintain existing backup policies and schedules according to operational and business requirements

- Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary

- Review and evaluate software security and its related risks. Plan and implement security patching as needed

- Script application deployment, daily monitoring and automation

- Upgrade and configure system software that supports LTA/MSI infrastructure per project or operational needs

- Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures and documents

- Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning

- Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required

- Evaluate, develop and implement new system enhancements per request from various constituencies

- Plan and deploy new SeP application software upgrades / Business Objects as required

- Perform incident management, vendor management and reporting

- Monitor and coordinate recovery procedures between the affected constituencies and the vendor. Provide technical assistance as required

- Involve in the Disaster Recovery planning and execution of DR procedures during simulated dry runs and actual disaster runs

• Proactive, innovative with in depth Food & Beverage and market knowledge.

Conducts regular team meetings, provides trainings, arranges examinations and provides learning opportunities for all team members to reach highest standards and skill levels.

• Uses the performance review process to identify and develops talent for growth.
• Manages performance issues by using varied coaching styles.
• Reviews work performance of all colleagues to assure that established procedures and policies are being followed.
• Enforces and upholds highest standards in discipline and knowledge of the contents in disciplinary actions. Actively enforces colleague motivation and team building.
• Observes colleague’s individual performance, grooming and punctuality.
• Performs colleague appraisals and executes disciplinary actions if required.
• Provide a level of Safety and Security for guests and employees.
• Assists in recruitment, induct and train the team who are competent and confident.
• Attends daily meetings and all other meetings, which fall under his/her jurisdiction, follows directives given and advises Food & Beverage Operations Manager on topics of importance.
• Attends monthly departmental meetings and communicates with the team. Follow up on projects assigned if any.
• Checks daily opening and closing duties.

Marketing Plan and Revenue Management

• Displays the knowledge and confidence to represent the brand and promote the outlet.
• Is comfortable being a media personality with all public statements being subject to approval and supervision of the Management and Marketing Communications team.
• Answers questions and attends to queries or feedback regarding the restaurant comfortably and confidently.
• Provides recommendations to Management about potential sources of incremental revenue e.g. promotions etc.
• Implements appropriate and effective measures to improve control of labour and operating.
• Submits regular restaurant revenue and expense forecasts.
• Submits monthly sales analysis with respective improvement recommendations/action plan.
• Ensures all reports generated are accurate before submission.

Training, Learning and Development of the Team

• Arranges training for all colleagues in line with established training requirements and co-ordinates all arrangements for proper execution.
• Conducts regular on the job trainings for colleagues to develop their skills and knowledge.
• Guides the departmental orientation for new hires.
• Ensures that colleagues are aware of hotel rules and regulations.
• Ensures that colleagues are trained on fire and safety, emergency procedures and hygiene.
• Consistently develops in self-learning and development of own skills and knowledge.

Other Responsibilities

• Coordinates all functions with Culinary Team, Catering Sales Team and Service Team to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Develops own knowledge and skills to grow as business partner and leader.

The Resident Bartender prepares mixes and serves drinks and beverages correctly to all guests. He/she engages with our guests during their visit, receives and serves orders and delivers accordance to Raffles Hotel Singapore service standards.

Primary Responsibilities

Overseeing Daily Operatoins and Achieving Targets

• Supports Resident Mixologist in providing world-class hospitality and drinks making.
• Ensures operating par stock for OS&E and beverage.
• Adheres to bar Standard Operating Procedures.
• Delivers quality and consistency of all drinks served in accordance with the bar recipe by Raffles Hotel Singapore. 
• Ensures maintenance equipment checklist to be conducted on weekly basis with Engineering and Housekeeping team. 
• Ensures bar/outlet and related areas and outlet hygiene are kept to Raffles Hotel Singapore and HACCP standards.
• Ensures cleanliness and appearance of the bar/outlet and related areas at all times and takes immediate action when required. 
• Attends all Raffles Hotel Singapore or Food & Beverage training platform for all colleagues.
• Familiarises self with the company’s applicable processes, software and technologies (e.g. Micros, Avero, Material Control, etc.).
• Is present in the bar/outlet during all key operation periods.
• Achieves or exceeds outlet’s goal and sales target.
• Delivers personalise guest experience and in accordance to MOQ, Forbes and LQA Standards.
