- Part of Transaction Banking (TB) Digital Channel Solutions, we are building a complete end-to-end, digital-first client journey from onboarding, transacting to servicing and reporting. We are passionate about developing and delivering Best in Class digital client experience through consistent, well designed, contextual user journeys across all our client touchpoints such as the web and mobile.
- The role Director, TB Data Analytics is part of Digital Channel Solutions team based in Singapore. Our Straight2Bank digital platform serves our global clients across our 45+ footprint markets. You will be responsible for data solutions to enable our Transaction Banking business, operations and technology teams, execute on it through disciplined product development, laser-focussed on delivery and time-to-market. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver data analytics solutions to external clients via Straight2Bank, as well as to internal Transaction Banking business teams.
- This role reports to the Global Head, CCIB Digital Platforms and Products. We are building big data solutions for datasets in channels, payments, collections and clearing business where we have millions of transactions daily.
- The role requires close partnership with Product and Sales teams, Operations and Technology, and risk owners such as legal and compliance globally.
- To be successful, you will internalise complex information about products and services to make them understandable to real humans and manage delivery of these features under the agile framework.
- The role would be suited to a candidate having experience in data analytics, data engineering, and focussed on delivery of solutions that help business take decisions fast.
- Proven track record in building and deploying analytics solutions in Banking or Financial Services that have created significant value for customers and additional revenue based on new business models.
- Numerate and strong in data analytics and modelling using statistical methods and algorithms, including regression, classification, and clustering.
- Since this role is fully focused on solving problems for customers and business alike, it requires empathy and business understanding in equal parts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
- Partner with the Analytics Consumers (i.e., Product, Sales Ops, CSG) and Data Product Leaders and Executive Leadership to ensure solutions alignment business and Go-To-Market (GTM) priorities.
- Influence a data-driven goal and direction for technology, solutions and use case priortisation.
- Understand the use cases (roles, personas, pain points) to drive data strategy and product vision in alignment with Business Stakeholder needs and Bank’s overall data strategy.
- Create a single, prioritized backlog to ensure data engineering / tech resources are deployed to solve right problems and enable trade off discussions.
- Collaborate with Product Leadership and technology teams to gather and synthesize user feedback, driving product improvements and removing barriers to business generation.
Business
- Work with large and complex data sets to solve a wide array of challenging problems using different analytical and statistical approaches.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather business needs, translate them into technical solutions, and lead the prioritization of deliveries in alignment with business goals.
- Apply technical expertise with quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and the presentation of data to develop strategies for our products.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers to ensure the data architecture supports business needs and work with Data Analysts to deliver actionable insights that can be effectively utilized by stakeholders.
- Build and automate intuitive dashboards that help visualize and answer complex business problems.
- Work with Data Scientists to develop and implement AI/ML algorithms, statistical use cases and rapid prototypes from big data sets to drive revenue generation activities for sales, products and supporting CSG and Ops teams.

- Establish a minimum SLA with tech on data quality and monitor effectiveness metrics
- Lead engagement with PMO teams and respective forums for your workstream

- Work with Engineering and Analytics teams to develop and motivate a team of engineers based in Bangalore and Chennai in the areas of focus and assist in the delivery of use cases.
- Empower, manage, coach and guide teams to deliver on timely outcomes and ensuring quality of code and rigour in analytics output.
- Encourage the team to strengthening skills through relevant training, learning and development activities.

- Ensure alignment of risk management aspect for all deliveries and conducting themselves in line with the Bank’s standards, policies, and procedures

Our Ideal Candidate
- University Degree or equivalent, preferably in computer science, engineering or analytical discipline, e.g. mathematics, statistics, IT, economics, finance, accounting.
- 8 plus years’ experience doing quantitative analysis.
- Fluency in SQL and Python.
- 4 plus years’ experience leading product analytics and influencing product roadmap
- Experience understanding ecosystems, user behaviours and long-term product trends.
- Proven experience leading data-driven projects from definition to execution: defining metrics, experiment design, communicating actionable insights.
- Analytical mind with ability to translate business problems and requirements into analytics solutions.
- Knowledge of banking products and the overall industry a strong plus
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with ethos of excellence.
- Ability to work independently but also in teams.
- Proficiency across the core analytics toolsets (SQL and or Alteryx, Dataiku) for ETL and working in Big data environment of Hadoop.
- Very strong experience in Python to build Statistical and ML models and knowledge of writing python functions to automate work.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau) is preferable but not a must.
