Our client, a reputable MNC main contractor, is looking for a Site Engineer for an on-going MRT project. 5 days/week working

about the job

• Plan all works on site (working schedules and installation methods)
• Responsible for site preparation works and monitor work progress
• Coordinates between sub-contractors/vendors/internal departments
• Conduct regular site progress meeting with subcontractors, monitor
• Ensure all installation checklists & Set to Work are progressively checked, duly signed
• participate in the conceptual development on the assigned project and oversee the scheduling and implementation.
• Report on the project status and site progress regularly to the Project Manager

skills & experience required

• Diploma / Higher NITEC in engineering
• Min 3 years of relevant experience
• MRT project experience will be a plus
• Valid class 3 driving license is needed for the role
• Able to travel to overseas for work assignment (about 20%-30%)
• Training given to candidate with no experience

About the Team

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) of AML (Applied Machine Learning) team combines system engineering and the art of machine learning to develop and run massively distributed AI/recommendation system around the world.

On the SRE team, you'll have the opportunity to sharpen your expertise in coding, performance analysis and large system operation, and get heavily involved in the process of hardware/capacity decision-making.

Responsibilities

- Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialised utility programs.

Qualifications

Job Description

The successful candidate will join the Information Technology Division, Cloud & Platforms Department.

Key responsibilities include:

• Set the technology roadmap and standards for database technologies covering traditional RDBMSs as well as modern NoSQL / specialised databases
• Implement and maintain full operational lifecycle procedures from deployment, to maintenance/patching, backup/recovery and decomm using extensive automation
• Provide 24x7 operational support of database systems with responsibility for uptime, overall system performance, identifying root cause and implementing improvements to avoid recurrence

• Provide end-to-end support and advisory including support required by application developers

Requirements

• Possess a degree in Information Technology or related fields with good experience in multiple data or database centric roles
• Strong understanding of database concepts with deeper knowledge of Oracle and MySQL
• Experience is required in the following areas:Strong understanding of operational processes and automation
  Shell scripting, ideally using Python
  Performance, capacity planning and database/query tuning.
