About the role
Reporting to the CEO and being part of the executive team, QIP is looking to appoint a Finance Director with strong experience in real estate and funds management. The Board is looking for a high calibre individual currently in a senior finance role seeking to step into Finance Director role or a new FD with scope for this individual to grow into the future CFO of the business in parallel with business growth.
As a member of the senior management team, the FD will have overall fiscal and financial operational responsibility across the Group as well as its investment management, development management and asset management business pillars. This person is an integral member of the business that will be involved across financial, commercial and the risk management of the business and this person represents a strategic hire to execute and contribute to the company’s strategic growth plans.
The overall role and responsibilities include:
- Partnering with the CEO and the Business Unit heads to monitor and manage the business and drive the growth and performance of its real estate businesses.
- Lead and manage the annual budgeting, financial analysis and forecast, setting the KPIs to improve business performance across both the group and its real estate business units
- Lead the team and work alongside professional advisors to manage the annual audit processes and ensure rigorous compliance with financial and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Responsible for treasury and working capital management across the group and its investment portfolio including supporting its portfolio financing and refinancing activities
- Lead the finance and operations function to ensure high standards of control and accountability and incorporate continuous improvement of internal controls, processes, practices and procedures across the business
- To work closely with the company’s business to provide a high standard of financial, accounting and capital management services; specifically to the Investment Management business in relation to its real estate development and stabilised income portfolio and to the Development Management business and its underlying construction projects.
- Work closely with the investment management and development management teams across the financial and management investor quarterly and annual reporting of the underlying investment projects and portfolio
- Manage the financial, control and reporting functions of the investment portfolios including in different business partnerships, joint ventures and fund structures across multiple jurisdictions with underlying investments across UK, Japan and the US.
- Work alongside advisors and lead the team to oversee and lead the taxation, regulatory and other investment compliance requirements across its various business structures and partnerships that hold the investment portfolio
The successful candidate should:
- Be a qualified accountant with at least 15 years of experience.
- Be a proven Financial Controller or currently a FD with real estate funds management or private equity business, having contributed to growing a business, across revenue and profit, extending to executing operational efficiencies and working closely in partnership with business units and senior management.
- Have experience of working with strategic investors and demonstrated a strong focus on value creation, working capital management, as well as the credibility to manage relationships with stakeholders.
- Be a team player, focused, is of a high integrity individual with strong commercial acumen, and an effective communicator. The individual seeks to lead a team that strives for excellence, high performance and results oriented and is able to achieve this by fostering trust and openness between its team members and other business units.
