Job Purpose
- Support the Manager in managing a fleet of LNG carriers
- Ensure effective communication and co-ordination with Charterer, Owners, and Ship Technical Managers
- Ensure safe and reliable transportation of LNG and maximize Owner profits
- Support LNG and Offshore division in managing customer relationships and enhancing overall commercial value.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Owner representative for a fleet of LNG carriers on long term charterer
- Administer Project Budgets with the Ship Managers
- Manage Internal Approval process and interact/liaise with Technical and Commercial Teams overseas.
- Give Asset Management input in response to Tenders and Presentation Materials and follow up activities
- Develop relationships with existing and potential clients and other related organizations
- Provide Operational Input for Contractual compliance matters
2. Ensure effective governance and compliance of all commercial and ship management contracts.
- Time Charterparties
- Ship Management Agreements
- Support Finance Team of the project (Appointed Corporate Service Provider)
3. Manage and resolve commercial disputes and ensure Owner interests are protected. These will include but not be limited to:
- Liaising with Charterers and review of off hire reconciliation statements.
- Review and negotiate time charterparty performance claims and report to manager/owner before settlement.
- Keep all stakeholders fully updated on progress and close out
4. Ensure vigorous control and review of ship technical manager actual spend v budget
- Review expenditure requests (AFE) over approved budget and obtain manager sign off.
- Prepare quarterly / year end OPEX reports with variance analysis for manager review and sign off.
- Review annual OPEX and dry dock budgets - seek necessary approvals.
5. Ensure effective communications with all stakeholders.
- Liaise with Charterer(s), Ship technical manager (Fleet Manager, Technical Manager and Voyage Manager), Finance team, P&I Club
- Report to Manager – Asset Management, Management, Headquarters, Board of Directors (Joint Ventures), Shareholders (Joint Ventures)
6. Ensure (HQ) reports are submitted as per the agreed deadlines
- Liaise closely with Finance Team and prepare Budget documents and analysis for approvals
- Liaise closely with Finance Team to prepare and submit long term P&L projections.
- Handle ad-hoc requests // clarifications from HQ (Shareholders / Owners).
7. Support insurance manager and minimize impact to P&L
- Support insurance manager to ensure rightful claims are raised and recovered.
- Liaise with Finance team to ensure appropriate provisions are allocated to financial statements
- Update (HQ), Senior Leadership, Directors and Shareholders with manager supervision and guidance on the Insurance / claims /Settlement matters
8. Prepare and organize
- Ensure Monthly KPI scorecards are sent to Charterers / Owners.
- Review monthly OPEX reports and variance analysis submitted by Ship technical managers
- Quarterly business reports. Submit to Board of Directors and Shareholders.
- Prepare/ organize director and shareholder meeting materials.
9. Owner representative
- Assist Manager during crisis management situations.
- Deputize for Manager when on holiday or away on business trips.
- Represent company and JVs at owner, charterer and Industry events.
10. Projects
- Provide commercial/operational support to business development // project teams when required.
Qualifications:
- Degree in maritime and/ or business
- Familiarity with Tankers time charter/ shipbuilding contractual terms and associated commercial agreements
- Ability to read basic financial statements
- Good cultural awareness with the ability to engage with various stakeholders worldwide
- Excellent communication skills
- Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks // projects by oneself
- Commercially astute with a sharp eye for detail
- Numerically astute and comfortable reporting large numbers to management (USD$ millions)
- Capable to report complex commercial matters in a few salient points and provide resolution(s) to manager
- Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills
