Research Assistant/Associate, Analytical Chemistry

We are currently recruiting a highly motivated Research Assistant/Associate in the team of Nanyang Assistant Professor Guan Xue Li. Our group is interested in understanding the roles of microbial lipids in human health and antimicrobial resistance. It is increasingly appreciated that microbial lipids play critical functions in modulation of human metabolic and immune health, as well as infection outcome and treatment responses. We employ an integrated systems biology approach, including development and application of lipidomics, to study the complex repertoire of bacterial lipids and aim to identify lipid metabolic networks which can be modulated for treatment of infections.

Key Responsibilities :

o Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks on industrial packaging machines and equipment;

o Carry out repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance work on mechanical and electrical systems;

o Keep records of maintenance and repair work, including ensure spare parts inventory equipped at all times;

o Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and efficiency standards;

o Ensure maintaining spare parts inventory levels and ensuring proper care and protection of maintenance tools and equipment;

o Assist Maintenance Chief to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives;

o Obtain quotes from suppliers and internet purchases for comparison to achieve the most cost effective solutions while maintaining quality standards;

o Provide weekly updates on the status of ongoing maintenance tasks, servicing issues, and outstanding parts orders.

Requirements :

o Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial machinery, preferably in a beverage manufacturing environment;

o Diploma, NITEC, NTC-2, or ITC in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Electrical Engineering;

o Competent in Microsoft Office preferred - outlook, excel, word, and CAD;

o Knowledge of industrial machinery, including packaging equipment, conveyor system, boiler, chiller, compressor and cooling tower etc;

This role is part of LABGISTICS Asia Pte Ltd (LABG) Logistics Department. The role will be to manage daily warehouse activities such as receiving, picking, packing, unloading containers or trucks, loading trucks, cycle counting and housekeeping.

The Logistics Assistant is expected to maintain a clean and safety environment for warehouse activities. The individual is expected to work as a team and to implement processes and technology usage such as the Radio Frequency scanner.

The Logistics Assistant will also work with internal departments to build a strong team. The individual will be reporting to the Warehouse officer or Manager of LABG.

Key Responsibilities:

• To follow and execute logistical duties in according to SOP, work schedule and regulatory requirements daily or as when required.
• To work as a team with the rest of the logistics staff.
• To perform radioactive clearance and delivery (Snr Logistics Assistant).
• To perform daily cycle count for the accuracy of the inventory.
• To follow all the safety requirements in dealing or driving equipment such as forklift, Aisle master and Reach truck.
• To maintain and upkeep all the equipment issued for receiving, picking, and packing.
• To comply with the working schedule of the warehouse operations.
• Any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate superior.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Secondary ‘N’ or ‘O’ level school Certificates
• Hands-on experience and knowledge in logistics: Warehousing or Distributions.
• Satisfactory communication and coordination skills.
• Basic computer literate skills (email, excel, word) are an added advantage but not a requirement.
• Able to multitask and handle fast paced environment.
• Carries a class 3 Driving License / Fork Lift License.
