Lonza is currently looking to hire a Associate Engineer, Maintenance. Role is responsible to execute daily routine and repair work orders as assigned. The role will perform basic troubleshooting equipment breakdowns and carry out basic repairs on production equipment/ systems or report back to Engineer/Manager. Position will escort vendors/service providers for routine maintenance work to ensure equipment is maintained in full operational status. And promptly inform the Engineer/Manager of any incidents or events, irrespective of the nature and severity.

Key responsibilities:

• Execute daily routine and repair work orders as assigned.
• Be vigilant on safety to ensure jobs are done in a safe way and maintaining a high level of GMP compliance.
• Ensure all maintenance works are duly carried out as scheduled and in compliance with Engineering standards and procedures.
• Perform shift if required and respond on-call for maintenance/service breakdown and support ongoing operations.
• Basic troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and carry out basic repairs of production equipment/ systems or report back to Engineer/Manager.
• Escort contractors, vendors/service providers for maintenance work to ensure equipment is maintained in full operational status.
• Promptly inform engineers of any incidents or events, irrespective of the nature and severity.
• Keeps all areas clean and well organized
• Communicate to Engineer/Manager when encounter non-compliance issues including work delay, breakdown, missing parts etc.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned by Engineer/Manager, inclusive but not limited to the above.

Key requirements:

• A Diploma or a relevant Trade certificate with relevant work experience in process equipment & maintenance in Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology, Medical, Semiconductor, O&G industry.
• Hands-on production equipment’s/systems operations, repair and maintenance experience in Biopharma, Pharmaceutical or a relevant environment.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• With strong hands-on technical skills or willing to be hands-on on Utilities system/ process equipment.
• Detailed and Quality conscious.
• Ability to follow SOPs and instructions.
• Diligent in performing operational checks.
• Able to work independently.
• Ability to lead a small group of contractors for PM.
• Willing to lead and support on maintenance continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and supervise Construction and maintenance activities to ensure inspection programmes and preventive maintenance works are carried out as planned and in accordance with standards expected.
• Follow up promptly on corrective maintenance works to minimize downtime and maintain a safe environment.
• Manage and supervise planned and corrective maintenance programmes for electronic directory boards and speed advisory signs to ensure systems are in good working condition.
• Manage and supervise planned slope inspection programmes and analyze service report to pick up potential slope failure tell-tale sign and take quick remedial actions to mitigate.
• Manage user’s request, understand the requirements, develop work proposals and estimate associated costs.
