Duties:

• Follow a complete teaching plan.
• Teach alphabet, phonics and numeracy along with personal, social and emotional skills.
• Organize learning material and resources
• Use a variety of activities and instructional methods (songs, stories, media, structured games, art, outdoor activities etc) to motivate and stimulate children’s abilities.
• Conduct daily routine care and related duties.
• Responsible for the upkeep of teaching resources, prepare art and craft materials, arrangement, appearance, decorations, and learning environment of the classroom.
• Use positive discipline techniques at all times.
• Maintain and build relationships with children and parents.
• Diploma/Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education or relevant.
• Passionate about nurturing a love for learning and in making a difference in the lives of children.

• Responsible for teaching business studies subject to the students.
• Develop lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
• Present lessons that cater to the needs of all the students within the class.
• Checking of notebook, preparing worksheets, setting question papers.
• Conducting practical lessons.
• Supervising and grading examinations, and, at the end of the semester or year, grading each student.
• Handling other duties related to subject according to requirement of the School.

Job Responsibilities:

• Plan, supervise, and implement the program for the class in accordance with the policies, guidelines, frameworks and philosophy of the centre.
• Address each child’s educational and developmental and keep accurate records of children’s progress
• through checklists, progress notes, photographs and anecdotal records.
• Provide a safe and stimulating environment for children to work and play in.
• Meet with parents to address any concerns or at parents’ request. Keep Principal informed about student concerns or difficulties.
• Complete progress reports on children for each semester and prepare a developmental portfolio for each child.
• Render basic first aid as and when necessary.
• Being responsible for the arrangement, appearance, decorations, and learning environment of the classroom.
• Attend all teachers meetings and professional development sessions, and participate on committees and activity teams as required. Attendance is mandatory.
• Work cooperatively with other staff/ teachers to ensure optimal benefit for children
• Display a positive attitude, work cooperatively with other staff members and assist new teachers with settling in to MindChamps PreSchool
• Other adhoc duties that might be required from time to time as assigned by your supervisor/the company.

PRESCHOOL CHINESE LANGUAGE TEACHER (DUAL LANGUAGE, MANDARIN & ENGLISH)

We recognise that exceptional bilingual Preschool Chinese Language Teachers are key to providing our children with an excellent dual language international education in both English and Mandarin. We are seeking Preschool Chinese Language Teachers who are fluent in both English and Mandarin (in order to teach lessons in English and Mandarin language) and who have the highest expectations for their students’ achievement and development. They will teach dedicated Mandarin lessons, as well as support as an Assistant Teacher in a dedicated classroom.

We are looking for the successful candidates to cover a period of maternity leave from:

1. August 2024 to November 2024; or
2. August 2024 to June 2025

The successful candidates will have:

• A minimum of GCE ‘O’ Levels;
• A Certificate or Diploma in Preschool or Early Childhood Education or equivalent;
• Fluency in both Mandarin and English, as they will need to teach lessons in English and Mandarin language and also, to handle queries and concerns from Mandarin speaking students and parents;
• A minimum of one year's experience in an early years setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Early Intervention for Children (EIC) Services helps equip children with motor, communication, social, self-help and cognitive skills. THK EIC involves structuring classes around small groups encompassing early childhood special education, social work and therapy support services to stimulate their adaptive functioning and school readiness skills.

Class Engagement:

• Plan, prepare and carry out an effective routine-based intervention programme for the class to meet every childs IEP
• Work towards functional outcomes of the child through child engagement, embedding of naturalistic strategies, differentiation of prompts, behavioural intervention techniques
• Carry out recommended therapeutic strategies as part of the transdisciplinary team
• Prepare age appropriate teaching resources based on childrens interest
• Maintain a respectful learning environment for the children with the practice of positive discipline by treating all children with dignity and respect and allow for individual differences
• Be familiar with and adhere to the programme policies, health and safety regulations and emergency procedures and be ready to implement these if necessary

Working in Teams:

• Supervise and be responsible for Assistant Teachers and Teacher Aides under their respective grouping
• Mentor Assistant Teachers and Teacher Aides in the areas of classroom management, basic teaching strategies, and behavioral intervention techniques
• Meeting with Assistant Teachers and Teacher Aides regularly for allocation of roles in the classroom, brainstorming, planning and preparation of activities and resources.
• Conduct annual performance appraisals for their Teacher Aides
• Participate actively in cluster discussions
• Be involved in at least two event planning

• Conduct sharing sessions to share the knowledge acquired during external trainings

Management of Processes:

• Maintain timely submission and updates of all required teachingrelated documentation
