JOB DESCRIPTION

The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and HVAC systems in the world. Facilities Technicians at Google data centers operate, monitor and support physical facilities conditions. Some of these duties will include heating and cooling of air and water, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution and control and monitoring systems. You regularly help inspect, maintain and repair various data center systems such as piping and non-critical electrical or mechanical system components). You provide daily assistance to senior technicians as you read blueprints/schematics, conduct tours of systems and assess their working order.

As an advocate for best practices, you develop creative approaches to reducing operational costs while improving overall data center efficiency. You ensure that environmental and safety standards are consistently met, identifying problems and making repairs quickly. In emergency situations or abnormal conditions, you manage data center performance issues and outages to minimize the recovery time from failures.

• Be responsible for the uptime, maintenance, and troubleshooting of water pumps and treatment systems, HVAC, and Control and Monitoring Systems.

About The Role

Purpose of the Maintenance Technician (Instrument) is to carry out hands-on maintenance and coordinates maintenance work related to instrumentation in the Production Unit (PU). The role assures that activities on the weekly schedule, emergencies or assigned non routine maintenance work are executed with quality and efficiency and in compliance to the site Health, Safety and Environment requirements

Accountabilities

1.Provide day-to-day hands-on maintenance/troubleshooting to instrument related matters in PU.

2.Ensure compliance of engineering practices and assets with statutory obligations, Engineering Codes of Practices and Shell DEP standards.

3.Review and communicate daily / weekly schedule assignments with workforce. Plan / execute / obtain resources, materials, services, and equipment for E and SB priority work repairs.

4.Ensure compliance with HSSE standards Monitor and feedback on the maintenance effectiveness process and take corrective action if required GSAP administration of time sheets, service, purchase, and material orders. What We Need From You

The A*STAR Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) Facility supports research and diagnostic work involving a range of risk group 3 pathogens, such as mpox virus, avian influenza, and Mtb. We are seeking motivated candidates to contribute to our efforts in pandemic preparedness.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with relevant stakeholders to develop comprehensive policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and guidelines for biosafety within the BSL-3 Facility.
• Ensure that all approved biosafety measures are effectively implemented and adhered to within the facility to mitigate risks associated with handling hazardous materials.
• Design and deliver training programs on biorisk management to staff members, ensuring they are well-versed in safety protocols and procedures.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for communication between the BSL-3 Facility and stakeholders, as well as regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
• Facilitate meetings related to BSL3 safety and serve as a liaison for addressing any safety concerns or issues raised by facility users.
