The opportunity
Would you like to gain global equity investment experience in the international office of one of the largest and most sophisticated asset management platforms in the world?
Based in Singapore, our Equities division is looking for one student to join the Private Capital (Direct Investing team on an internship for 6 months. You must be able to start between July to December 2024)
Who you’ll work with
The Private Capital team is a global private equity group of over 60 investment professionals that sits across the Toronto, London, Hong Kong, and Singapore offices and leads a portfolio of over CAD 42 billion. The Private Capital team makes direct equity investments into private companies and invests as an LP into external private equity funds around the world. The team has generated approximately 20% net returns since inception through a combination of direct and fund investments.
What you’ll do
In supporting the Private Capital team, you will be responsible for helping evaluate new private equity investment opportunities. Regular tasks will include industry and company research, building financial models, and drafting investment memorandums.
What you’ll need
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate’s degree with a concentration in business, finance, accounting or economics
- At least in 2nd year of study with at least one prior meaningful internship experience
- Keen interest in investing and familiarity with accounting and finance concepts
- Intellectual curiosity and high energy with a strong desire to learn and a can-do attitude Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to perform in-depth analysis
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- The ability to balance multiple priorities and initiatives while remaining detail-oriented
- You will be returning to your studies after the work term is completed
