Description

- Responsibility for operational cost management by ensuring that per unit cost and cost reductions targets are met.

- Continuous Improvement initiatives are identified to drive scalability and flexibility.

- Work closely with our 3PL partner management team to build process/systems roadmap, and infrastructure investment that enhances customer experience.

- Drive process standardisation across sites to determine and implement the highest operating standards. Benchmarking DC practices within industry and across industries to refresh our solutions approach.

- Ensure quarterly, monthly and weekly performance reviews are in place for all sites supported by management and operational reporting.

- Hold thorough reviews in advance of every new product launch and other key events such as Quarter end and Black Friday to ensure sufficient receiving, storage, pick/pack capacity is in place.

- Hold regular readiness reviews for the yearly NPI and promotional peaks to ensure staffing, shift patterns, space, layout and equipment are sufficient. Develop contingency plans to support business in case of performance issues.

- Manage and develop talent with functional skill sets, redundancy and succession planning.

- Work cross functionally with the Supply Chain and 3PL to ensure compliance to contract and supply chain re-engineering initiatives.

- Integration with other business units in Logistics, particularly the Inbound and Outbound BU's, to ensure one comprehensive end to end supply chain solution.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor Manager to join our client’s dynamic team in the marine industry. As a key member of the management team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of cost management, contract administration, and financial control for marine projects.

Objectives:

In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of quantity surveyors, providing strategic direction, and ensuring the effective implementation of best practices in cost management.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, with extensive experience in the marine industry. You should possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers. Key Responsibilities:

• Planning, scheduling and monitoring of QS’s work for respective projects to ensure that works are completed on time for submissions to Client parallel to Project Schedule both in re-measurements and change proposals.
• Provide quotations to Client’s for any new additional works arises out of the original scope of works (if any).
• Checking and approving the change proposal for submission to Clients.
• Prepare forecast of overall projects costs inclusive of revised MTO’s and change proposals of each project. (Will provide to Client periodically.).
• Meeting up with Clients to reconcile and close up on the re-measurements and change proposals submitted.
• Compilation and close-up of final account for each project completed with the respective client.
• Prepare and monitor invoices and payments from Client for each project.
• Provide contractual advice to the PM or Project Team for any commercial issues.
• Any other ad-hoc duties being assigned by Superior.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Quantity Surveyor or Construction Management discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience in Marine shipyard for large constructions projects
• Experience in the quantification and valuation of works for claims is essential, together with sound knowledge of commercial processes such as contracts, subcontracting, tendering and procurement.
• Excellent written and good communicative skills, able to interact with people of all levels and teamwork.
