The Maintenance Technician performs routine monitoring and inspection, troubleshooting and rectification, as well as preventive and corrective maintenance of critical facilities (effluent treatment plant, RO water generation plant and air compressor system) and process equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) / Work Instructions (WIs).

He/she conducts maintenance work for process equipment and records performed maintenance and inspection work as part of the Integrated Systems (Quality, Environmental and Safety) record keeping requirements. He/she may specialise in Electrical, Mechatronics or instrumentation and control related-maintenance work.

He/she is a member of the Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) and supports continuous improvement projects for the plant.

Meranti Power Pte. Ltd., a fully owned subsidiary of Energy Market Authority, is establishing a maintenance team to maintain two open cycle gas turbines of our power generation station.

We are inviting applicants for the positions of Technical Officer (Control & Instrumentation) who shall report to the Senior Engineer / Engineer (Control & Instrumentation Maintenance) and be responsible for supporting him in the maintenance of C&I systems of the power station/plants. The Technical Officer shall support C&I team in the following:

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for proper maintenance of gas turbine, generator and auxiliary systems as assigned by Head or Engineers in-charge.
• Perform troubleshooting, predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure plant equipment and systems run smoothly and efficiently
• Identify, plan and initiate required actions to maintain the power plants for long term reliability and efficient generation output.
• Prepare technical specifications for equipment services, contract labour and ad-hoc maintenance services. Supervise and report performance of contractors to ensure good quality and progress of maintenance works, as well as full compliance with contract specifications.
• Liaise, supervise, and coordinate with contractors and vendors on projects, maintenance, repair, shut down, and overhaul works
• Support operation and maintenance engineers in investigation, analyse and determine the root cause of plant defects and outages.
• Maintain and control all records as required.
• Assist in the preparation, certification and review of all management systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001, ISO 27001, ISO 50001 annually and provide support to the auditing parties wherever necessary, including internal & external auditors, to rectify non compliances and/or to follow up on improvement items identified during audit.
• Maintain and enhance the Control System Network and CyberSecurity of OT system.
• Support engineers in managing maintenance contracts and inspections, testing and commissioning of new equipment.
• Carry out routine and corrective maintenance programme of C&I in-charged equipment.
• Inspection and acceptance of purchased materials and contract spares.
• Reporting unsafe conditions/near miss incidents for rectification
• Monitor ad-hoc plant projects/tasks to ensure on time delivery
• Perform work orders allocated by Department Heads and/or Engineers

Requirements:

• Education in Electronics & Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 2 years’ C&I maintenance experience in a power plant or related industry
• Willing to work overtime
• Self-driven with good working attitude and possess keen learning disposition
• Proven attendance record and works well in a team
• Work location is in Jurong Island (Transport to and from Jurong East MRT are provided)
