We are seeking an experienced conventional Lathe/Milling Machine Setter to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating lathes/milling machine to produce high-quality parts and components. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of macbine operations, machining principles, and quality control measures. Machines are conventional type, not CNC.
Key Responsibilities:
1. *Set up and operate lathes/milling*: Set up lathes/milling with correct tools, fixtures, and parameters to produce parts according to specifications.
2. *Read and interpret blueprints*: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand part requirements and tolerances.
3. *Measure and inspect parts*: Measure and inspect parts to ensure accuracy and quality, using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
4. *Adjust and maintain machines*: Adjust and maintain machines to ensure optimal performance, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
5. *Troubleshoot issues*: Troubleshoot issues with tools, and parts, and take corrective action to resolve problems.
6. *Maintain quality and safety standards*: Maintain high-quality standards and adhere to safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout/tagout procedures.
7. *Collaborate with team members*: Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals, share knowledge, and improve processes.
Requirements:
1. *Education*: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a machining apprenticeship or vocational training program preferred.
2. *Experience*: 2+ years of experience as a lathe/milling machine setter or in a related machining role.
3. *Technical skills*: Strong understanding of lathe/milling operations, machining principles, and quality control measures. Proficient in reading blueprints, using precision measuring instruments, and operating lathes.
Able to machine workpiece of up to outer dia 1600mm
4. *Physical demands*: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced production environment.
5. *Certifications*: Certification in machining or a related field
