The role involves working with Professors Pushan Dutt and Lin Tian on various projects related to inequality, broadly defined. The ideal candidate should have strong data management and data analyses skills, particularly software packages such as STATA, R, Matlab and Python. Skills in STATA are especially valuable.

The position is ideal for a recent university or Masters graduate looking to develop their research skills in economics in view of applying for a PhD programme. It will provide the candidate with great preparation for PhD programme entry by training the applicant in doing research, giving him/her access to some PhD training and developing a relationship with potential letter writers.

A Financial Consultant with the focus in the expat wealth management market in Singapore to counsel clients on potential investment opportunities, by exercising their knowledge of investment strategies, securities, tax laws, pension plans, real estate, and insurance.

Determine the client’s assets, liabilities, cash flow, insurance coverage, tax status, and financial objectives in order to suggest financial alternatives that will co-ordinate with both the client’s short term and long term financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analysis of client’s financial status, developing client value proposition plans based on the understanding of financial data, and discussion of financial objectives with the client.
• Build client relationships based upon developing strategies focused on achieving the client’s financial goals through the use of financial and wealth management solutions.
• Establish relationships to ensure that the client retains the Group and Consultant for wealth management services over the longer term.
• Prepare and submit recommendation documents to implement a plan selected by the client.
• Advise clients on appropriate investment products, financial and wealth management services/products.

About the role

The Market Analysis team sits in the Commercial Product Group and is responsible for generating short-to-medium term market insights (up-to 5 years). This incorporates supply and competitor analysis; demand forecasts (including downstream sectors); trading support; and price forecasting. The team focus is to leverage these insights and analysis to support Commercial decision-making and generate value across Sales & Marketing, Procurement and Marine & Logistics. The Market Analysis team also provide short-to-medium term market context and commodity price forecasts across the Group.

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Market Analysis – Copper & by-products to join a high performing team, support cash generation and business growth through market analysis and insight and influence Commercial Strategy.

Reporting to the Head of Market Analysis, you will:

· Deepen and broaden our understanding of all facets of copper and by-product markets (including molybdenum, sulphuric acid, gold).

· Deliver insights to the Sales & Marketing teams to improve commercial outcomes – eg trading and negotiation support, customer and competitor intel, price forecasts, tools, models and scenarios.

· Support the marketing development plans for our copper growth assets.

· Manage projects with external experts to expand and deepen commodity knowledge.

· Collaborate with other Market Analysis teams to draw cross-commodity insights and share best-practice.

· Own and develop our propriety models associated with copper analysis – i.e., supply cost curves, demand models, pricing frameworks.

· Be armed with resources and provide strong leadership and develop capability in the team to achieve the above goals.

About you

· University degree in either economics, technical or commercial discipline.

· Minimum 10 years relevant experience within a commodity focused MNC.

· Demonstrated and deep understanding of copper supply chains and by-products.

· Proven relevant experience and analytical skills with the ability to critically analyse data and identify trends and key drivers.

· Ability to understand and manipulate complex technical information from a variety of technical disciplines.

· Proven ability to present concepts and results clearly.

We are looking for a researcher/senior researcher to work on the following:

Research projects seeking to improve tree structural stability in urban environments, including the development of new technologies and methodologies to assess defects in tree trunks, tree root parameters in constrained urban spaces and tree root anchorage strength, as well as wind load modelling and measurement for trees. Key roles for the projects above will include project management, field and laboratory testing, project coordination and contributions to reports and scientific publications.

[What you will be working on]

1. Coordination between research stakeholders and greenery asset managers to perform large scale-field work (e.g. LiDAR scanning, root excavations and static load testing etc.).

2. Data collection and evaluation of research outcomes.

[What we are looking for]

· Master’s degree in tree biomechanics, civil/environmental engineering, forestry, arboriculture, ecology, plant physiology, or related fields.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Experience in one or more scientific computing language (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB) or experience in numerical modelling will be advantageous but not mandatory.

· Team player with the ability to work with other research teams and key stakeholders in government, industry, and academia.
