Position Summary

In support of ASM’s Data and Analytics growth journey , we are searching for a Data Analyst. This role in the Operations Data Analytics team is pivotal for Reporting , Analytics and Insights for the Global Operations Business functions encompassing Forecasting , Production Planning , Purchasing , Supply Chain , Logistics , Manufacturing , Operations Engineering Change Control and Quality.

As a Data Analyst you will work closely with Data Analysts and business stakeholders to provide Data Analysis , Reports , Insights and Solutions to Business problems.

The position will provide plethora of opportunities to apply Data Concepts to real world problems in Business Operations.

Primary Responsibilities

The responsibilities are grouped into two main areas:

• Development : To develop Microsoft Power BI Reports (Data Visualization Reports) for Global Operations Business Functions.
• Data Analysis : To understand business problem, identify data sources , extract data , analyze and publish results and presentations to the stakeholders.

Your role

• Design, build, test and maintain Microsoft Power BI Dashboards .
• Collaborate with data analyst and business stakeholders , to understand business problems and deliver data analysis , insights and recommendations.
• Collaborate with Technology IT teams - Business Intelligence , SAP Applications and Data Engineering teams for Power BI Dataflow creations.
• Suggest recommendations for Automating repetitive tasks using Microsoft Platforms Solutions/AI,
• Handle change requests and service requests
• Participate/Conceive in Big Data project/proof of concept using Azure Data Lake/Azure AI.

Education

• Bachelor/Master’s Degree/ in Data Analytics / Data Science / Artificial Intelligence/ Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science/IT/ Engineering / Computing / Supply Chain or Operations Management / Operations Research or related STEM qualification

Experience

• Knowledge of Data Visualization Concepts and Tools eg. Microsoft Power BI
• Minimum 2 years work experience in Data Analytics field / Data Science / AI projects.

• Business Partnering with Commodity and BU Finance teams; supporting these teams with data, analysis, metrics and process creation/improvements
• Measure and track monthly Cost Savings vs target; and work closely with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to bridge such gaps
• Prepare monthly actuals and forecast on Direct and Indirect Spend; and variance analysis to actual
• Support month end activities such as Purchase Price Variance
• Support Cost Centre Controlling; including template roll-overs; forecasting and budgeting process
• Support and drive ad-hoc projects; including analysing supplier pricing variances; geographical spend profile and indirect expenses such as IT etc. to identify opportunities for cost savings

Responsibilities

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)

• Prepare and analyse company’s profit margins and profitability and drive cross department discussions to create action plan to deal with topics raised.
• Prepare monthly reports on PPV (Purchase Price Variance), UPPV (Unplanned Purchase Price Variance) and collaborate with Procurement team to understand their pain points and drive improvements.
• Forecast capital expenditures and conduct ROI (Return on Investment) analysis.
• Monitor, analyse and set targets for key operations cost components such as scrap cost, sub-con cost, factory requisite.
• Prepare and analyse DL and machine utilization reports to monitor plant’s capacity and cost impacts.
• Understand and track amortized tooling and tooling sales performance.
• Conduct business and competitor risk analysis

Costing

• Prepare, publish, and continuously update the internal RFQ costing sheet and provide training on their use.
• Review costing sheets with Operations Managers, Account Managers, General Managers, Operations team, and Commercial team
• Prepare business case for selling price increase and collaborate with the commercial and Operations management teams to roll out strategies to address issues.
• Prepare key materials purchase trending reports and challenge GMs and related stakeholders.
• Review sales customer pipeline report and New Wins reports with the commercial team
• Track ROI of RFQ won and drive conversations on underperformance and encourage/share wins on better performance.
• Conduct should-cost analysis and scenario costing

• Lead and drive annual rates for MOH (Manufacturing Overhead), DL (Direct Labor), base price to set in oracle and costing sheet.

Corporate Finance/Group Accounting

• Assist with monthly group closing and processing.
• Conduct annual reviews of customer’s credit.
• Prepare and analyse accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory aging and set challenges to each site to improve their CCC.

Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy/ACCA or equivalent professional qualifications
• More than 3-5 years of experience in FP&A or Cost Accounting in a Manufacturing environment
• Good Knowledge of ERP system
