Reporting to the Manager, Engineering, the Process Engineer will provide technical guidance on packaging-related customer complaints, deviations and investigations, as well as develop and participates in continuous process improvement activities to enhance packaging performance metrics. In collaboration with functional groups, will support the introduction of new products/market to the packaging operation as well as qualify new components and equipment capabilities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Critical responsibilities but not limited to:

• Investigating packaging customer complaints and authoring customer complaint reports
• Supports routine supply manufacture by providing on going technical support and implementing opportunities for improvement utilizing the lean six sigma tools.
• Support new product introductions to the site by assisting with machinability and qualification activities and training of technicians as required.

• Supports filing activities by developing and supporting qualification activities for equipment, process and material changes.

This position reports to the Vice President of Automation Manufacturing Technology (AMT), Integrated Operations Network (ION), and is responsible for effectively leading the collaboration with business units across TE to achieve productivity and gross margin improvement that are aligned with TE strategy. The successful candidate is responsible for developing and executing the AI strategy to integrate and optimize the inhouse and external resources by influences. The person in this position must charter a strong AI related talent network among business units and AMT on transforming innovation practices into robust application processes with scaling up implementations. This role will leverage the leader’s experience in AI, manufacturing, assembly, and general management to build a strong network and increase the competitiveness in AI related advanced assembly, automation, and manufacturing technologies for TE.

This is an extremely hands-on role that provides the candidate with opportunity to join a high performing organization and highly visible development opportunities for future operation and manufacturing leadership within TE. Responsibilities:

• Identify AI opportunities with multiple BU customers to facilitate their strategy of accelerating the short-term and long-term AI related roadmap on assembly and automation manufacturing.
• Develop and innovate AI related strategies for the transformational collaboration with BU customer to drive TE operational excellence through end-to-end approach from effective innovation, application, and scaling up implementation. Align the strategy with BU customer’s current to 5-year strategic roadmaps and make recommendation on the AMT prioritizations.

Requirements:

• A Master degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline. A PhD engineering degree is strongly preferred. 10+ years operational and/or technical experiences in a technology environment/industry is also preferred.

Understanding key SPAM process in TE is preferred. Experiences in chartering company-wide AI technology events with solid tangible results are strongly preferred.

Project Details

Assist the Production Process Engineers with the following tasks:

For New Products or Prototypes :

• Acquire first hand experience with the production processes through hands-on work done under the guidance of the Technicians and Engineers
• Prepare detailed Work Instructions
• Establish Cycle Time for each process step

For current running Products that already have existing Work Instructions and Cycle Times established:

• Acquire first hand experience with the production processes through hands-on work done under the guidance of the Technicians and Engineers
• Review and verify the existing Work Instructions
• Review and verify the established Cycle Times against the actual work as well as the CT stated in SAP

Intended Learning Outcomes

• Gain first hand/ hands-on experience in the use of various hand tools and machineries, as well as manufacturing work in general

The key functions of Process Engineer is to:

1. Applies Engineering principles and techniques to optimise production process in the fab to meet department and organization goals and objectives

2. Analyse and troubleshoots process engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance issues, and recommend engineering solutions or developed work instructions for out of control processes

3. Leads production and manufacturing systems, improvement projects and develop operation plans in accordance with department and organization objectives alighn with regulatory requirements.

Tasks:

• Analyze SPC charts using SPACE. Know all the PR rules and their significance. Do proper annotation to maintain quality troubleshooting rate for SPC OOC. Understand Cp and Cpk indices.
• Analyze split lot, DOE data, ET, sort yield using JMP, Klarity ACE.
• Create SPC charts, DCOP and modify SLDB using PROMIS (Si-View).
• Upload recipe, check recipe and ensure recipe content compliance using RMS.
• Follow up on SPSR, MRB, 8D, TECN, or spec update with ECN. Provide guidance to junior Engineers.
• Setup and troubleshoot issues in recipes/ job files in all metrology tools within the Module.
• Analyze data from passed down to identify chronic process issues, establish improvement programs and lead engineers to resolve them. Establish CAS / procedures to be followed and work with other departments for resolution if required.
• Work as a team with both Equipment and Manufacturing Engineers to meet Module objectives. Drive team to meet key indices of Uptime and OEE as per the goals set for these indices.
• Take on leadership roles to drive a small cross functional task team to address yield improvement/ excursion issues.
• Facilitate/ initiate CIP programs to optimize process window, cost, yield, and productivity. Establish plans and strategies to optimize process capability to meet operational requirements.
• Resolve complex technical issues in own Module or yield related issues
• Follow up with cross-fab benchmarking activities to engage the best-in-campus practices across fabs.
• Self audit and update specifications / documentation to meet TS16949 Quality Standard requirements.

About the role:

• Process Systems Engineer II is recognized within Takeda as technical subject matter expert (SME) for designated systems for the Singapore Biologics Manufacturing facility from a systems perspective.
• Process Systems engineer II is an integral member of the Singapore Process Engineering Team, he/she reports into the Process Systems Engineering Lead/Process Engineering Manager.
• Process Systems engineer II interacts closely with the Manufacturing supervisors to ensure that all Systems engineering activities are delivered to support reliable and robust manufacturing operations.

• Process Systems engineer II support all phases of engineering project implementation to meet scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements. This work includes preparation of scope of work documents, cost estimates, and project schedules.

How you will contribute:

• Act as system technical owner for Upstream, Downstream equipment’s and other unit operations and acting as primary engineering liaison between the system business owner and engineering.
• Lead the engineering remediation activities on designated systems (Deviations, complex Corrective Maintenance, hardware fault finding) which include generating necessary RA, Job Plans together with Engineering Operations.
• Lead Quality Event (Deviation) process and ensure timely creation, analysis and closure of events
• Lead engineering change controls to completion for designated systems.

• Timely closure of EHS and Quality event investigation and corrective & preventive action tasks.
• Create Corrective Maintenance job plans in CMMS and change controls as needed for complex CM that has potential quality/product impact.
• Review standard operating procedures (SOPs) for process equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance (PM) checklists
• Identify and assist in procurement of spare parts required for process equipment maintenance activities.
• Participate as Process Engineering representative on cross functional support team meetings.
• Execution of activities like RV(Receipt Verification), hardware FAT/SAT & installation verification associated with equipment changes and new equipment installations.
• Review vendor turnover package documentation to ensure it meets all requirements
• Ensure materials of construction of manufacturing equipment’s are appropriate to meet process requirements.
• Manage construction activities associated with implementation of engineering projects, if required.
• Perform detailed technical designs for new equipment or changes to existing equipment through an understanding of user requirements and completion of design reviews with project stakeholders.
