Responsibilities and Duties

This role oversees the stakeholder engagement and to formulate and lead in the implementation of MMS approved administrative policies, plans and established goals at the Home office.

Stakeholder Engagement

The primary role of the Stakeholder Engagement Manager is to ensure MMS field ministries are communicated to and supported by the wider Methodist community in Singapore.

• Co-ordinate, implement and manage MMS stakeholder engagement policy and strategy, including development of programmes for the sharing of our specific ministries by country, Regional Directors, ministry staff and missionaries.
• Plan and engage the relevant MCS agencies, annual conferences, Methodist churches, and donors to respond in partnership and collectively support the field ministries of MMS comprehensively.

Home Office

Another primary role is to formulate, lead and implement the approved MMS administrative policies, plans and established goals at the Home office.

• Direct, oversee and coordinate the ministry of MMS at the Home office.
• Oversee the various staff functions namely [Personnel and Missionary Care, Administration, Depository, Internship and Scholarship, Volunteer Relations, IT, Communications, and Data Base Management] and events in MMS Home office].

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, or equivalent, from an established institution or university with at least 7 years of relevant working experiences, preferably in mission field or in Church leadership.

Responsibilities

• Be a business partner to subsidiary business leaders, finance and accounting members. To engage in every aspect of the business organization and offer insights and points of view beyond just Finance and Accounting.
• Examine, develop and implement strategic Finance and Accounting initiatives in accordance to finance group mid-term plan and transformation projects as a regional finance HQ function.
• Establish a set of clear and consistent Finance and Accounting policies and practices, to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the finance organization including internal controls in compliance with corporate objectives and government standards.
• Work closely with Yanmar Holdings (YHD) Finance and Accounting Division to ensure finance programs and policies that are being created support business needs.
• Manage finance projects such as acquisition, spin out, redeployment, merger, joint venture.
• Spear controllership in operational activities and risks in relation to finance and accounting, treasury and order management for smooth operation that demonstrates high standard of accuracy.
• Review, evaluate financial statements, reports, and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with corporate policy and statutory compliance. Analyze, simulate and recommend preventive countermeasures to safeguard financial position.
• Lead and review forecasting and budgetary planning and reporting.
• Manage year end audit process, impairment assessment and attend to audit queries, for timely sign off of audited accounts.
• Develop and implement optimized tax strategies, provide insight on tax implication and tax risk area in supporting business initiatives. Manage accurate and timely taxes filing (corporate tax, GST, withholding tax, transfer pricing documentation, etc), and ensuring tax compliance.
• Oversee treasury activities such as cash funds, foreign exchange, debt and capital management, consider optimized options and funding sources for cost-effectiveness. Actively safeguard the company financial and perform risk management by analyzing the transactional activities.
• Recommend financial advice or analysis when making investments. The work may include designing investment framework, industry analysis, financial modeling and due diligence.
• Provide guidance and leadership in developing or enhancing accounting policies and internal controls, drive operational excellence and efficiency.
• People management and development. Build finance capabilities and skills to increase efficiency and the value add of the finance functions in YIS and across Asia region.
• Additional value-added initiatives or ad-hoc projects.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Degree in accountancy
• Candidate must have at least 15 years of experience in finance and accounting, including tax and treasury
• Strategic planning and management experience (e.g., project management experience for policy-making at the regional level)
• Experience in handling financial project

Ideal Candidate

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree from reputable universities preferably in Business Administration and Health Sciences.

• Proficient in English communication and writing.
• Ability to read, write, and converse in Chinese will be an added advantage as liaising with our counterparts in China and Chinese customers.
• Pleasant personality, impeccable integrity, responsible, responsive, able to work under pressure and independently.
