Your focus as an Associate Strategy Director / Strategy Director:

- Leading a mid–sized client or being the second lieutenant on a large client(s).

- Establishing yourself as a trusted advisor to clients and a critical part of the client-facing leadership team from the agency.

- Fronting pitches and knowing how and when to determine a direction for new projects.

- Running different types of workshops (e.g. Big IdeaL and Fusion) as well as being conversant enough on other types of strategy such as engagement, social, data to be in the discussion and spot opportunities

- Seeking to inspire those around you to create and deliver ever better strategic work

- Coaching and developing more junior strategists in your team and supporting the broader agency strategy team to evolve and grow

NUS Business School is seeking suitable candidates to lead the NUS BIZCareers Team. This role is pivotal in steering strategic initiatives, fostering global partnerships, and empowering career success for our students and alumni. From orchestrating comprehensive training programmes to forging impactful employer relationships, this position drives the vision of the NUS Business School as a premier global talent hub.

Strategic Leadership and Team Management:

• Represent the NUS BIZCareers Team to stakeholders, leading a diverse team towards achieving both local and global job placement goals and fostering a positive work culture
• Drive strategic planning aligned with the NUS Business School's vision as a global talent hub

Business Development | Employer Relations:

• Cultivate strategic hiring partnerships locally and globally, engaging companies and businesses for internships and placements

Training and Development for Careers:

• Develop and execute comprehensive career exploration programmes, workshops, and resources for students, alumni, and graduates seeking job opportunities locally and globally
• Collaborate with university departments to create impactful career planning resources

Career Coaching for Local and Global Opportunities:

• Provide leadership in career advising, guiding students and alumni toward job placements while ensuring satisfaction and success metrics are met

Collaboration with Stakeholders:

• Collaborate with programmes offices to ensure seamless integration of career services into the overall student experience
• Work closely with employers, industry associations, and community partners to stay informed about current job market trends and opportunities

Tracking and Reporting for Internships and Job Placements:

• Oversee accurate graduate employment data collection and reporting to the NUS Management and relevant stakeholders
• Collaborate with the Dean's Office to analyze satisfaction surveys, driving improvements in career services and activities
• Regularly assess the impact and effectiveness of career services programmes/events through surveys and feedback so as to make data-driven decisions and continuously improve the quality of career services

Additional Responsibilities:

• Manage office budget, streamline processes for global team efficiency, and implement effective data collection systems
• Develop initiatives aligned with the school's vision to facilitate local and global job placements
• Utilize extensive networks in banking and consulting industries for career opportunities

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of leadership experience with a focus on global job placement
• Proven track record in global business development, career coaching, and employment trends
• Strong communication, executive presence, and ability to engage stakeholders globally
• Strategic thinker adept at resolving complex issues in a fast-paced global environment
• Extensive global network and experience in facilitating international job placements preferred
• Resilient, resourceful, and able to thrive under pressure in global job placement contexts
• Willingness and comfortable with regional and international travel for business development

(Appointment job grade will commensurate with the selected candidate's experience)

Work Responsibilties:

(a) Working with senior management to develop and implement policies and actions;

(b) Drafting of regulatory instruments such as legislations and subsidiary legislations;

(c) Providing legal advice and interpretation with respect to various legislations administered

(d) Drafting, reviewing and providing sound legal advice on a broad range of legal issues;

(e) Drafting, vetting and advising on general corporate and contractual matters including, but not limited to, tender documents, Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs), tenancy agreements and other commercial documents;

(f) Developing and setting in place internal legal processes and guidance for the various Divisions and

(g) Advising and managing potentially contentious matters;

(h) Managing and liaising with external lawyers; and

(i) Undertaking such other tasks/projects as may be assigned from time to time

Job Requirement

(i) A law degree and be called to the Singapore Bar.

(ii) At least 4 years post-qualification experience.

(iii) Corporate work experience (especially in contract law) would be an advantage.

(iv) Versatile and self-motivated with strong analytical skills.

(v) Able and willing to multi-task and work well under pressure handling a wide range of legal work.

(vi) Good communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to write and reason clearly and compellingly is essential.

(vii) Team player who is also able to work independently with minimal supervision.
