Project Manager, Political Cooperation and Parties in Asia (44 work hours per week)
The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), a German non-profit organization, works nationally and internationally to promote peace, freedom, justice, and prosperity. The Regional Programme Political Dialogue Asia based in Singapore herein aims to contribute to the strengthening of regional integration, global governance and international dialogue among Asian countries as well as between Europe, Asia and Australasia.
We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter to join the team of 20 colleagues at the foundation’s office in Lavender. As Project Manager, you will report to the Political Dialogue Asia Director, while independently planning, overseeing, and executing selected projects from our portfolio from ideation through to completion. You will interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and carry the sole responsibility of transparent budget planning and financial accounting of your projects.
As the Project Manager for Political Co-operation and Parties in Asia you will handle the Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politicians (KASYP): Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politicians (KASYP) - Regional Programme Political Dialogue Asia - Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung contribute to its constant evolution, finding synergies with other projects and liaising with our KASYPERs, current and past batches.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and oversee local, regional and overseas programme activities
- Conceptualise (budget and content), plan, organise and implement events
- Ensure the presence of key stakeholders and brief them on their contributions
- Identify partners and participants on the level of regional organisations
- Initiate, develop, maintain and deepen meaningful collaborative relationships
- Provide policy analyses and policy briefings
- Conduct research on current political developments
- Liaise with our network of young politicians and the alumni network ADLA
Required Qualifications, Experiences, Skills:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in social science, political science, management, or other related fields. Master’s degree is a major plus
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in project planning, budgeting, and implementation. Handling of public funds is an asset
- Broad political knowledge about the region, in particular of countries in Southeast, South and East Asia and their political systems, parties and intra-regional integration
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills as well as service-minded attitude
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Identification with the background and values of KAS, especially with European and democratic values
- Willingness to travel for conferences in the Asia-Pacific Region. Applicant should ideally be located in Singapore.
