Overview
The key responsibility for this role is to lead a global team of commodity leads – drive strategy and transform the team to the next level of digital and integrated Supply Chain Management. To Develop and drive material and supply chain management strategies to deliver customer requirements and maintain financial competitiveness for Kulicke & Soffa. This position requires the incumbent to have direct commodity management experience gained in Semiconductor Equipment or similar industries. Able to communicate with all levels of management with suppliers and internal stakeholders. This position requires the incumbent to demonstrate competencies: Collaborative, Competitive, Creative, Reliable and Leadership.
Job Description
- Develop commodity strategy for mechanical / electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, modules, and commercial parts.
- Review commodity gaps and develop / drive implementation of new sources to close gap.
- Provide support to all business teams on materials and supply chain related to supplier capacity, schedule, deliveries, and costing.
- Provides management with regular recommendations / updates on commodity matrices performance & related commodity strategies moving forward.
- Sources for new suppliers, develop supplier strategy to meet cost, quality, technology, and delivery for all commodities.
- Plans and conducts regular business reviews with Key Suppliers to ensure aligned goals & business directions.
- Supports in resolving supplier quality problems and improve supplier manufacturing and business processes.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders to understand business priorities and drive key improvement matrices.
- Establishes and maintains rapport with critical suppliers to assure a high level of focus on total quality and cost effectiveness.
- Provides regionalization & risk mitigation input to ensure no delay / shortfall of material supplies.
- Lead and/or supervise project management (Cost Negotiation, NPI, Sourcing, Benchmarking, Process improvement)
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience requirements
- Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams and competent in managing a highly Global energized cross cultured team.
- Strong sense and experienced in cost saving methodologies e.g. value engineering, logistics optimization, negotiation skill and collaboration.
- Cost Benchmarking, RFQ analysis and Make-Buy analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of materials, technology, cost, commodity roadmaps and supply sources.
- Strong understanding of Contract law and contract drafting for different types of Product / Services.
- Strong commercial acumen and data presentation skills with an ability to influence and persuade stakeholders.
- Good working knowledge of SAP or Oracle including Purchase Order, Material Master, PIR, Contract management.
- Strong Analytic skill and process automation knowledge.
- Strong Decision-Making, project management & change management skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and strong focus on results.
- Meticulous with good communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to inspire teamwork and to effectively lead others.
Other Requirements
- 8+ years’ experience in Global / Regional commodity management and procurement for Semiconductor or similar industries covering multiple regions / countries.
- Minimum Bachelor of Engineering
