Area of responsibility and Leadership tasks
- Act as a liaison between global Corporate Procurement Shared Service and APAC subsidiaries.
- Oversee procurement strategies and operations within the APAC cluster.
- Lead, manage, and develop the local procurement support team to achieve business objectives.
- Owner of sourcing strategies for the APAC cluster.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement transformation strategy for the APAC region, aligning with the global procurement vision and objectives.
- Manage and mitigate procurement risks for the APAC cluster.
- Develop and implement a digital transformation strategy for procurement, leveraging digital tools and platforms to transform procurement processes from sourcing to contract management.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement transformation strategy for the APAC region, aligning with the global procurement vision and objectives.
- Manage supplier relationships by executing the Source-to-Contract process, including preparing and conducting fact-based negotiations, and adapting tactics from a broad portfolio of negotiation strategies to achieve results that support business and procurement objectives.
Main tasks and project tasks
- Implement procurement policies and procedures across APAC subsidiaries.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for the APAC cluster.
- Work closely with Global Procurement Shared Service and teams to develop a strategic roadmap, fostering best-in-class relationships with strategic and tactical vendors.
- Lead the implementation of global sourcing strategies in APAC.
- Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements (TCO / End-to-End)
- Assess, highlight and manage procurement risks as a key responsibility.
- Oversee supplier performance and development.
- Collaborate with internal departments and the Procurement Shared Service to optimize procurement processes.
- Leverage Procurement Centers of Excellence and Value Stream Teams Expertise to maximize performance ensuring efficiency and alignment with the broader Procurement function
- Lead procurement projects and support local teams in implementing procurement strategies.
Objectives and control variables
- Set clear procurement goals aligned with corporate strategies.
- Monitor key performance indicators (related to Supplier Performance, Financial Metrics, Risk Management, Innovation etc) to ensure targets are met.
Internal and External collaborations
- Team within Global Procurement shared service
- Local Procurement support team: Oversee procurement activities within specific countries or sub-regions.
- Sourcing Managers: Focus on specific categories of goods and services, ensuring strategic sourcing and supplier management.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Finance/Controlling, Quality and Supply Chain teams to align procurement strategies with overall business goals.
- Coordinate with the global Corporate Procurement Shared Service to ensure consistency and alignment with global procurement policies.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers and external partners to ensure reliable supply chains and favorable terms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and best practices.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in English; additional languages relevant to the APAC region and German are a plus.
