About the Role
As Master Data Specialist, you will work with Senior Manager BI and Master Data to execute data strategy and establish better governance of the group’s procurement master data throughout its lifecycle and ensure that high quality, actionable spend data is provided to the business. You will guide the category teams on how to secure an item’s mastering and data integrity through the end-to-end procurement process. This is partially a new role in the team developing our master data management (MDM) is a key part of improving our global Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) capability. In this role, you will make your mark on Telenor’s journey of digital transformation.
However, the role will work closely with the operational team who is rolling out a common Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process and solution across all our business units.
Main Responsibilities
Master Data Governance
- Develop and secure implementation of the Master Data Governance across Global Procurement
- Develop and continuously improve lifecycle processes for efficient master data in P2P and Sourcing processes.
- Ensure effective master data governance disciplines for both internal stakeholders across BUs to establish data quality rules and ensure effective data quality program.
- Maintain and update governance documents, ensure alignment across data owners and center of excellence forum.
- Periodic maintenance of MDM portal and ensure information are up to date.
Data Analysis and Tooling Development
- Develop analytic report to be used for Global Procurement.
- Develop TCO benchmark tooling to be used across Global Procurement for the RFQ processes.
- Periodic analysis of spend data quality to ensure accuracy of spend, drive cleansing and process improvement through different forums (central and local category team, P2P, Finance).
- Develop and enhance machine learning scripts to improve spend classification
Project Support
- Assist in the planning and execution of projects aimed at improving operational efficiency.
- Track project milestones and deliverables, ensuring timely completion.
Cross-Department Collaboration
- Build strong working relationships with internal or external customers, other key stakeholders within Global Procurement including P2P team and IT system specialists to develop a shared understanding of MDM requirements, business processes and department inter-dependencies.
Profile
We seek a passionate person in exploring various technology and knowledge has hands-on experience developing solution through various analytic tooling. with harmonizing and improving master data, common information architecture and business processes related to the procurement supply chain functional area.

- Self-driven, and ability to adapt to a fast moving and dynamic environment with changes in priorities.
- Interested to evolve along a Data Governance/Data Management career path.
Qualification and Skills Requirements
- University degree within Finance/Accounting, Supply Chain, Business Management, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Data Science or equivalent
- 2+ years working with applied business intelligence and analytics solutions. Fresh graduates are welcome
- Experience from Procurement/Strategic Sourcing/ Category management/Supply Chain
- Working in a matrix set-up
- Working in an international corporate with both European and Asian footprint
- Hands-on experience with procurement enabling tools such as spend visibility and Coupa P2P.
Proficient in:
