• Incremental improvements/development of software modules
• Analyze customer/production issues and implement solutions within the existing machine application (bug fixing).
• Investigate and implement engineering change requests.
• Testing of new releases by simulating processes and on actual equipment.
• Work with version control tools and issue tracking tool for software release management.
• Creates and maintains engineering documentations relating to software development / bug-fix / feature releases following clients standards and design rules.
• Ensure fast response to customer and production issues.
• Provides engineering support to assigned R&D/CIT projects.
• Install & (beta) test new software release/fix at customer sites (ability to travel needed)

Requirements Education

Bachelor Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (Mechatronic) or Software Engineering

Work experience

• At least 3 years relevant experience in automation / equipment industries.
• Significant practical experience in software engineering and testing (embedded software and HMI environment).
• Experience with agile software development processes, quality control and test driven development

Expertise and methodology

• Proficiency in Microsoft (C++, VB6) using Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 and programming “C” and “C++”.
• Knowledge of UML and state machines; State Transition Diagrams
• Experience with version control in Mercurial / GIT is a pre
• Experience with SECS/GEM is a plus.

Responsibilities: -

• Provide technical support to Operating Plants for safe & smooth plant operations
• In charge of daily chemical & mechanical processes.
• Initiate and implement plans for performance improvement and economic / capacity optimization
• Perform plant simulation to identify high return opportunities to business team
• Draft process improvement idea with the objectives to improve process / occupational safety, improve product safety / quality, reduce energy consumption, improve production capacity / productivity, and reduce costs.
• Implement Process Improvement idea via Management of Change system and/or Non-regular work system.
• Evaluate process performance and key process parameters from long term view and/or periodically to uncover potential risk that may leads to Plant instability, Safety or Quality issues.
• Troubleshoot plant trouble related to process, perform root cause analysis and propose corrective and preventive measures as process engineering function and/or based on request basis.
• To in charge of equipment calibrations.
• To update production output regularly.
• All other ad-hoc duties as assigned
