Responsibilities

• Prepare polymer additives for production usage.
• Carry out lab evaluation of finished products using testing equipment.
• Quality checks on finished products as well as production samples.
• Ensure proper documentations of results, equipment and consumables.
• Ensure proper sample management according to SOPs.
• Prepare test reports/Certificate of Analysis.
• Carry out safety and housekeeping activities in the department.
• Any other duties as and when required to be done by Quality Manager.

Requirements

• Possess at least ITE/Diploma in Chemical Process Technology, Chemistry Chemical Engineering, Science & Technology, Polymer Science or equivalent.
• Fresh graduates are welcomed. Preferably 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in lab testing/chemical/ petrochemical industry.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
• Keen to learn and responsible.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Team player.
• Meticulous with an eye for accuracy.
• Proficient in MS Office.

1. Able to Interpret technical drawings and requirements from machining parts.

2. Familiar with measuring instruments and gauges.

Job Description:

•Perform inspections on raw materials, intermediates and finished products by conduct sensory evaluation, carry out physical, analytical tests to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.

•Document non-conformance and conduct investigations on customers’ complaint samples or rejected items (Internal & External).

•Issue various documents (TDS, COA) and reply technical enquiry raised internally (e.g. inter-department, affiliates) or externally (e.g by customers).

•Ensure preventive maintenance and external calibration of lab equipment is carried out duly.

•Ensure proper functioning and running of QC laboratories (Chemical, sensory, microbiology, retain sample room) in accordance with ISO9001, 5S, lean principle, ISO14000 and OSHAS 18001 standards and procedures.

•Assist and support in the implementation of continuous improvements in QA/QC functions

•Carry out ad-hoc duties as assigned, when and where necessary.

Qualifications:

•Minimum Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Food Science and Technology, Analytical Chemistry or equivalent in years of similar experience.

•Hasa prior 2 to 3 years in a similar position.

•Basic knowledge & interpretation of gas chromatography, knowledge of densimeter and refractive index equipment preferred.

•Basic knowledge of chemistry.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to ensure production operations meet required standards.
• Recommend any necessary adjustments and modifications to production processes to ensure product quality.
• Inspect and test materials and equipment produced by the company to verify compliance with specifications.
• Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to assess products for accuracy.
• Identify and remove products that do not meet production standards and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for review and resolution.
• Accept or reject finished products and communicate inspection results with the production team for necessary improvements.
• Perform random in-process inspections to monitor product quality at various stages of the production cycle.
• Execute other related duties as assigned.
