Overall Purpose of Role

The Calibration Lab is responsible for carrying out the recalibration of both Seatronics owned and 3rdparty equipment to manufacturer’s specifications and tolerances. As Calibration Engineer, you will undertake a number of tasks in the equipment calibration process including equipment maintenance, servicing and re-certification all of which will be required in order to meet project deadlines.

Relationships: Reports to engineering manager, liaises with line managers and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The responsibilities of the postholder will include but not be limited to the following:

• Calibration of individual sensors to manufactures tolerances & specifications as per Seatronics calibration procedures.
• Electronic testing / fault finding and system testing
• Electronic repairs including minor pcb work and cable re-terminations
• Creation of accurate calibration documents
• Accurate and organized documenting of calibration certificates
• Point of liaison between suppliers, manufacturer’s and customers as required
• Shipping to customers and manufacturers
• Occasional field based equipment support to customers as required
• Occasional remote based equipment support to customers
• Maintenance of calibration facilities to maintain the best possible standards.
• Monitor lab test/reference equipment calibration requirements and organize re-certification with minimal lab down time.
• Ensure the return of 3rd party equipment within the timescales agreed.

Willingness to undertake other duties as and when required such as stock take, maintaining tidy work areas, copying, filing etc.

· N Tech or equivalent in a relevant area; Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Systems

• Coordinates administrative aspects of project management.
• Serves as Project Handler of record and signs as Reviewer of record as assigned.
• Communicates project status and results to clients through frequent contact and by preparing reports.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• University Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Physics with min eight years directly related work experience.
• Have experience in EMC/Radio Frequency (RF) testing.
• Detailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the appropriate discipline.
• Working knowledge of conformity standards in use in areas of expertise.
• Demonstrated ability to apply project-handling concepts in use in areas of expertise,
• including application to complex, new, or unusual products.
• Working knowledge of industry issues, needs, and problems.

• Working Days: Monday - Friday
• Working Hours: 8.45am to 6.15pm

Responsibilities

• Planning and scheduling of Project activities
• Service, trouble shoot, installation, commissioning and maintain our range of equipment on sites.
• Provide continuous after sales support such as helping customers identify problems with installed equipment (if any), recommending improved material, machinery or parts for replacement and maintenance.
• Coordination with Customers (mainly PUB/ NEA), Suppliers and Contractors and maintain high standards of professional and personal conduct when interacting with customers
• Continuously improve on own’s knowledge on supplier’s products with the aim to introduce technology that add value to the customers.
• Product training to customers and business partners.
• Maintaining and updating a data base on equipment and spare parts catalogs, protocol manuals, data books, salvaging tools and materials where possible.
