Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Airfreight and project management within a freight forwarding company.
• Proficiency in preparing quotations, budget control, and project execution.
• Familiarity with intercom systems to facilitate efficient communication.
• Strong understanding of international shipping, customs regulations, and trade compliance.
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for client interactions.
• Ability to work autonomously, handle pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Previous experience handling key clients and delivering high levels of client satisfaction.

The role:
This position, based at Austrade’s Office at the Australian High Commission in Singapore, is a key business development role to assist in attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to South Australia, as well as supporting the South Australia’s trade and export initiatives and programmes.
You will be required to target priority sectors outlined in South Australia’s International Engagement Strategy and Business Development Strategies with a focus on Singapore and the Southeast Asia region.

Duties include
• Lead South Australia’s trade and investment engagement with Singapore and South-East Asia, including coordination of the state’s resources across the region.
• Proactively identify, target and work closely with potential investors in Singapore and the Southeast Asia region to secure new FDI for South Australia. This will involve the mapping of potential investors based on South Australia’s opportunities, research and presentation of tailored information on industry capability and articulating the commercial benefits of investing in Australia.
• Work collaboratively with South Australia-based export advisors and industry partners to support market entry and growth in Southeast Asia for South Australian food, wine, technology and services exporters.
• Represent South Australia by delivering compelling presentations at business events and in CEO level meetings to promote the advantages of South Australia as a location for investment and trade partnerships.
• Apply strategic and analytical thought to identify and report issues or barries to investing in South Australia and to propose innovative solutions which will achieve results.
• Develop and maintain extensive senior level business and industry networks in Singapore, the Southeast Asia region and South Australia. This will include other academic, scientific institutions and industry and regional associations as well as business organisations.
• Implement a communications and media strategy to address key issues and to facilitate consistent messaging about South Australia’s investment and trade potential.
• Support the implementation of South Australia’s International Engagement Strategy, including on trade and export, trade missions, delegations and ministerial visits.
• Actively apply Austrade business practices and maintain accuracy of information in all Austrade Business Systems to deliver accurate and timely report and effective relationship management.
• Contribute to knowledge creation within Austrade, by adopting information practices, sharing knowledge and information and by embracing best practice and development opportunities.
