Job Description
The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant in the Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
Main duties and responsibilities
The Research Assistant will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator (PI) and his study team to successfully deliver research outcomes in the areas of ageing, stroke and cardiovascular diseases.
Familiarity and experience with molecular, cell biology, staining, advanced microscopy techniques, and computational analytical methods will be considered favorably.
Preference will be given to candidates who are able to analyse omics data and with familiarity with statistical softwares including SPSS or R.
Responsibilities also include the day to day management of laboratory operations such as procurement, preventive maintenance of equipment and laboratory safety.
Qualifications
The applicant should:
- Have a good degree in life sciences, biomedical sciences, biochemistry, or equivalent from a well-recognized university, with a minimum of 2 years experience.
- Able to work independently and in a team, and must have good interpersonal and communication skills
- Possess good organizational skills
- Have knowledge of common computer applications, e.g. MS office, PowerPoint, Excel, SPSS, “R”, Stata etc
Appointments will be made on a yearly contract basis with the possibility of extension.
Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
