The Research Coordinator shall assist and manage clinical research studies of the Cancer Genetics Service (CGS). CGS sees patients with familial and/or rare and undiagnosed diseases and offers genetic testing. We function as a service specialized in the principles and practice of genetics and genomic medicine, serving as a platform for clinical practice, research and education for NCCS. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians and academic researchers, participating in collaborative projects across disciplines and institutions.

You will manage and support clinical health services research projects in the CGS to understand and support the needs of patients, and identify strategies to improve outcomes related to genetic and genomic medicine.

Your duties will include:

- Managing databases (eg. REDCap) for research related and clinical data for clinical health service research projects of CGS.

- Support the development and execution of patient support events.

- Managing different aspects of clinical health services research:

- Driving patient recruitment.

- Collecting qualitative and quantitative data.

- Data analysis (statistical analysis and qualitative data analysis).

- Support the development of new clinical health services research projects.

- Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:

- Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Health Sciences or relevant Science related qualifications.

- Preferably with at least 1 year of relevant research experience.

- Ability to understand patient data will be preferred.

- Experience in managing healthcare–related databases and events would be advantageous.

- Relevant project management experience in clinical research.

- Possess good communication, writing and critical thinking skills.

The Division of Supportive and Palliative Care is conducting research projects to improve health services for patients with cancer and other serious illnesses. The projects aim to develop, evaluate and implement novel models of healthcare service delivery for palliative care. You will perform a variety of activities under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) and/or the PI’s designate:

1. Conduct literature reviews;

2. Screen and recruit patients/ research participants;

3. Conduct semi-structured interviews with patients/ research participants;

4. Attend to the administrative and logistic needs of research projects;

5. Assess patients for supportive and palliative care needs and manage any identified needs.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing or equivalent;

2. Recognized nursing qualification and registered with Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) with valid BCLS certificate;

3. At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience;

4. Strong interpersonal skill, able to interact and manage participants and clinicians at all levels;

5. Motivated, independent and hardworking individual with a keen interest to learn and gain experience in health services research.

Research Fellow, Science, Mathematics and Technology Cluster – LBELL group, to work on cutting-edge brain-inspired computing research as a member of the group that includes Desmond Loke and Yu Jiang. There will be a possibility to work with external collaborators for the deployment of brain-inspired computing algorithms.

In particular, to support a diverse set of use cases with ever-increasing requirements, the architectural design of 5G and future 6G systems emphasizes software-defined reconfigurability and AI-enabled intelligent operations. Open RAN --- as a generic term used by the community for an open radio access network architecture --- is viewed as a promising way to achieve this design objective. While open RAN promotes interoperable interfaces, RAN virtualization, and support for big data and AI-enabled RAN, its success requires us to overcome multiple challenges --- in particular, how to build intelligence and adaptability into such a system while still providing high assurance regarding its security and resilience.
