What role will you play?

• Be a member of the leadership team to achieve the vision and mission of the National GaN Technology Centre (NGTC).

The position provides the candidate a great opportunity to develop qualitative and quantitative research skills and work with international experts in public health policy, mental wellbeing, and maternal health. The job holder will be an integral part of a research project which examines the role of time use in the mental wellbeing of women with young children in Singapore. Responsibilities will include: literature review, qualitative and quantitative data collection, data analysis, and preparation of scientific papers. Polarisation variations in a focused beam are not restricted by the traditional diffraction limit and superoscillatory, i.e. very high spatial frequency, variations are possible. Engineering of focused polarisation structures can be achieved, for example, through wavefront shaping and polarisation control of incident beams. Illumination of proteins or other small bioparticles with such superoscillatory polarisation structured light offers opportunities in detection of conformational changes or nano-displacements which can observed with high sensitivity in polarisation space, even though there is no observable variation in the intensity domain. In this project we seek to determine optimal polarisation structures and determine expected sensitivity through analytic and computational means. Viability of experimental detection will be assessed and potentially pursued.

Job Description:

• Basic Research Support: Assist in conducting desktop scans and basic research activities (e.g. create online survey form) to gather relevant information and insights for operational planning and transformation initiatives;
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Using Microsoft or other tools to collect, analyze, and present data from basic research activities to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement;
• Project Support: Ensure progress coordination, documentation and tracking of key research and transformation initiatives. Ensure alignment with project requirements and timeline;
• Admin and Logistics Support: Prepare for meetings (e.g. assist in obtaining agenda materials), support collation of info/responses/inputs across teams, logistics support for workplan/engagement sessions (e.g. booking venues, coordinating refreshments, collating attendance/feedback, printing materials etc.); and

ISCE2 is seeking a talented Research Engineer to be part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team to develop next generation green and sustainable technology for the biomanufacturing of fine and specialty chemicals. This position offers an opportunity to work bioprocess and bioengineering to develop

scalable technologies for applications in green chemicals biomanufacturing. The ideal candidate is passionate about engineering biology for science and sustainability, self-motivated, organised, detail-oriented, enjoy laboratory work, and has excellent communication and teamwork skills. The successful candidate may be responsible for but not limited to:

• Molecular biology with emphasis on molecular cloning and DNA assembly
• Perform protein expression in bacterial systems, including molecular cloning, fermentation in bioreactors/shake flasks, and protein separation and immunoassays
• Design, plan and execute experiments based on proposed project scope
• Analyze data, interpret results and troubleshoot
• Presentation at regular project meetings and summarize results in reports
• Presentation and review of relevant literature
• Assist in the preparation of scientific communications; publications, figures and posters
• Perform general lab housekeeping
• Other duties as assigned by the manager

Requirements:

• BSc or Masters degree with some laboratory experience, preferably in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or Biological Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience
• Experience with bioreactors will be advantageous.
• Preferred hands-on experience with molecular cloning and bioanalytical techniques, such as PCR, SDS-PAGE, LC-MS, Western blot, ELISA or other immunoassays, etc.
• Team player who is self-motivated and enjoy applied research work in a multidisciplinary environment

• Rigorous data analysis and interpretation skills
